About the position 

The Digital Inclusion and Climate Action Levers is seeking a Senior Research Associate to serve as a UX/UI Designer, dedicated to enhancing the user experience of its digital products and services, with a primary focus on the ClimMob product family and climate-related services. This position will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the design and functionality of digital platforms and services are intuitive, accessible, and engaging, effectively addressing user needs.

The UX Designer's primary objective is to improve the overall user experience in the assigned project, employing user-centered design methodologies. This involves optimizing usability, enhancing user satisfaction, and delivering design solutions that align with business goals, meet user requirements, and adhere to the Alliance's digital design standards, while also ensuring technical feasibility. 

 

The position will be based in the operations center of the Americas, located in the Campus of Palmira, Colombia.

Key Responsibilities 

 

 

 User Research & Analysis

  •  Identify critical themes that impact on user experience of existing digital products and services and conduct user research (interviews, surveys, usability tests) to understand user needs and behaviors
  • Support the development of user personas, customer journey maps, and analyze data to inform design decisions.
  • Support the exploration of users, context and behaviors to understand the problem space and inform the design of new digital products and services

     UX Design & Prototyping

    • Participate in the creation of wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes for various features.
    • Ensure that the designs are user-friendly, intuitive, and aligned with both user needs and business goals.
    • Iterate on designs based on user feedback and testing.

       
      Information Architecture & Interaction Design

       

      • Support the development of an intuitive information architecture and user flows that improve navigation and task efficiency.
      • Assist in the simplification of complex processes to minimize user friction and enhance task completion rates.
        • Conduct in-person and remote usability tests, analyze results, and suggest data-driven improvements to the design.

          Documentation and best practices

          • Document the outcome from user interactions using the current user repository, including the whys behind the design decisions
          • Collaborate in the building and maintenance of a user research repository and the UX learning platform.
          • Facilitate the maintenance of a design library and branding for each digital product, in accordance with the front-end development library


            Collaboration

            • Work closely with development teams, product managers, researchers, and stakeholders to ensure designs are technically feasible and user-centered.
              • Participate as an active member of the Digital Inclusion and Climate Action Lever, especially the Inclusive Design Sub-Lever, and help to advance the integration of HCD in Alliance digital research and development
              • Collaborate with other UX Designers from de Alliance on establishing a more systematic in-person testing lab

                • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or related fields enroll in postgraduate studies.
