The protection community mobilizer will work from the community information centers in Malakal, conduct protection visit in in the villages in Malakal and go on protection mission within Upper Nile state as requested in order to provide information to persons of concerns, assistance and referrals to persons with specific needs and monitor the protection environment in the locations. The protection community mobilizer will be involved in community mobilization activities and the follow up of persons with special needs. Additionally, the protection mobilizer will support the protection officers (PO) in the organizing of workshops and training at community level and other stakeholders on IDP rights, protection and human rights.
Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the protection officer, the protection community Mobilizer has to support the following tasks:
Establish a connection section with communities and mobilize community members to engage in community-based protection activities. Establishing and Forming Community-based Protection Committees, for youth and Women Groups. Participate and assist in the organization of project events (practical training and workshops on collaboration between the local actors and communities, consultations with communities, mobilization of community members and leaders, etc.)ยท support the protection team in identifying protection risks and barriers related to social cohesionโs socioeconomic recovery and climate change.
Experience and technical competencies:
Previous experience in community โ based activities including mobilization, awareness campaigns or any other activity that included the involvement of the community members and /or leaders. Previous experience in protection activities at community level (2years) Basic knowledge and understanding of human rights and protection principles. Strong relationship building/ interpersonal skill; Positive attitude; Energetic and interested. Female applicants are highly encouraged to apply.Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Sociology, Political science, Law, development studies, international development, social studies, or equivalent is highly appreciated. Completion of secondary school or equivalent is acceptable.
