FHI 360 Vietnam is urgently seeking a qualified and motivated Vietnamese candidate to fill in the position of Technical Advisor, Health Information System for the Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC), based in Hanoi for a 2-month duration, expectedly from August 1, 2025, through September 30, 2025.
Position description:
The Technical Advisor for Health Information Systems (HIS) leads and coordinates HIS activities, focusing on integrating national platforms to strengthen HIV/GHS program reporting, including systems managed by Vietnam Social Security (VSS) and Vietnam Administration of Disease Prevention (VADP). The Advisor serves as the strategic and technical lead to promote platforms on monitoring ARV patients, managing drug stock and disease outbreaks, ensuring evidence-driven service delivery within the national health system.
Main responsibilities:
Collaborates and coordinates with internal and external stakeholders, including FHI 360 staff, donors, local authorities, IT vendors to monitor and ensure the HIS activities and platform deliverables are delivered on schedule and within budget.
Works with the technical team and relevant stakeholders to compile technical specification documentation, design, test and validate data systems.
Provides technical assistance to monitor the platform upgrades and user acceptability at provincial and district level.
Serves in the TWG on HIS led by VADP/VSS develop national/provincial HIV/GHS database system.
Facilitates the training programs in health informatics for designated health facility staff and capacity building for dedicated EpiC technical staff.
Provides mentoring and technical assistance to the project leaders and other HIS and SI staff in developing and improving their capacity to address HIS needs in HIV / GHS programs.
Performs other relevant duties as requested.
Experience and abilities for the position:
Bachelorsโ Degree or its international equivalent in project management, public health, medicine, health information systems, or related field. Advanced degree preferred fields.
A minimum of 7+ years of relevant experience working on public health projects. 5+ experience in management or implementation of HIS related area is an advantage.
Technical expertise in health information systems, particularly in monitoring HIV/GHS programs
Experience with USG or other international donor-funded projects.
Self-motivation and high sense of team spirit
Well-developed written and oral communication skills in both Vietnamese and English
Computer literate with strong skills in use of MS office package (Word, Excel, and PowerPointโฆ)
Ability to travel as necessary
