Mission and objectives GLOWA fights against human trafficking and the damage it creates in our communities throughout the Northwest region of Cameroon through community education to prevent trafficking, support for victims, and advocacy on their behalf. Through these works, GLOWA aims to nurture a culture of respect for human rights, particularly those of children and women, in the region and fight against the systematic abuses faced by the most vulnerable.
ContextEvery year, GLOWA joins the UNITE Campaign to commemorate the year end activism days from November 19th to 10th December. This period which ranges from the International Child Abuse Day on November 19, ends on the International Human Rights Day on December 10th. This year 2024, GLOWA wants is focus on Conflict Related Sexual Enslavement and forced pregnancies as a result of the prolonged conflict in the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon. Our campaign shall align with the themes of the year for the multitude of international human rights days covering this period up to December 10th. GLOWA plans to organize local events as well as online campaigns and use social media to amplify messages about conflict related sexual enslavement, interim reparation for adolescent survivors, early care and development for children fathered by belligerents of the conflict as well as prevention of further incidents of enslavement and forced child births. Online Volunteer's support is very central to our efforts to empower and transform survivors into frontline abolitionist. As such we are looking for passionate individuals, activist, Bloggers and influencers to join and amplifiers our cause and shine a spotlight to the issue of conflict related sexual violence and unintended pregnancies plaguing the restive North West and South West Regions of Cameroon
Task DescriptionGLOWA is looking for online volunteers to support with designing and engaging online campaign, design graphics and write social media and blog posts and stories as well as promote the campaign and other messages that will help shine a spotlight in conflict related sexual violence (CRSV).
