Mission and objectivesSimuka Africa Youth Association is a registered voluntary charitable organisation established in response to the poverty, gender-based violence, and limited access to educational programs impacting at-risk girls, marginalized youth & families in Zimbabwe. We have been in operation since 2006. Our SDG 1 - 6 initiatives and campaigns have brought recognition to the role education plays in tackling poverty and gender inequality. We seek to equip the youth of our country with tools to build a better world, establish careers and eliminate child marriage. SimukaAfrica.org and its 34 Gallery Initiative currently seek 3 highly motivated videographers to working directly alongside Simuka Africaโs Founding Director, The 34 Gallery Curator, and 34 Gallery Advisors for a three month duration. These roles are essential to maintaining high standards in our organization as it enters its 20th year of operation.
ContextSustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG3) covers good health and well-being goals. This overall purpose is to ensure healthy living for the global population, encourage preventative care and promote well-being at all ages. SDG 3 goals address all major health priorities, including mental, reproductive, maternal and child health; communicable, non-communicable and environmental disease; universal health coverage; and access for all to safe, effective, quality and affordable medicines and vaccines. Our efforts focus on the reduction of the global suicide rate, elimination of mental health stigmas, and the continuation of the mental health dialogue beyond Mayโs Mental Health Awareness Month. Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4) focuses on education and aims to โensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.โ Our campaign seeks to emphasize reading, digital literacy, arts education and utilizing the arts for self-care in areas where mental health services are unavailable. By fusing the arts with this process, we have seen a dramatic increase in interest and sincerity among participants. In doing so, we seek to expand services at our Norton Library.
Task Description1) The task requires volunteers with mandatory experience in social media campaigns, including graphic design experience with Canva, Adobe and similar programs. 2) Review and verify high-definition images for accuracy and quality standards. 3) Proof video content. 4) Double-check resources and materials used in operations. 5) Maintain professional email communication regarding project updates, requirements, and coordination. 6) Coordinate with creative team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely deliverables. 7) Create engaging social media content for outreach. 8) Participate in testing AI models specifically designed for graphics creation. 9) Provide feedback on AI-generated content and model performance. 10) Assist in evaluating and refining AI tools for creative applications. 11) Maintain organized records and documentation related to projects and artist communications.
