Duties and ResponsibilitiesObjective: To provide strategic planning, coordination, and results reporting support to the Regional Director, Senior Regional Coordination Officer and the DCO LAC Front Office, enabling coherent alignment of regional activities with global UN priorities and strengthening the leadership impact of the RC system across Latin America and the Caribbean. Key Responsibilities: 1. Strategic Planning Support: o Assist with monitoring the implementation of the DCO LAC annual workplan, ensuring alignment with global UN strategies and regional priorities. o Consolidate and synthesise multi-portfolio inputs to inform strategic decision-making and quarterly workplan adaptation. o Support the monitoring and implementation of the DCO LAC Visibility & Strategic Communications Strategy showcasing RC leadership and contributions to measurable country-level transformations. o Support the operationalisation of a regional \"UN Voice Narrative Toolkit\" tailored for RCs and RCOs to communicate the UN’s value proposition in each country. 2. Policy and Analytical Support: o Draft and refine strategic notes, briefings, and background papers to inform decision-making by the Regional Director and senior leadership. o Analyse regional trends and provide insights to support evidence-based planning. o Contribute to the conceptualisation and drafting of quarterly op-eds and regional thought leadership pieces by the Regional Director, targeting key policy and donor audiences. 3. Support for Coordination of High-Level Engagements: o Supporting the coordination and preparation of substantive materials for high-level regional engagements, interagency dialogues, and strategic partnerships, ensuring alignment with DCO priorities. o Support communication and follow-up on action points arising from these engagements. 4. Monitoring and Reporting: o Design and maintain tools to monitor implementation of strategic priorities and generate timely, results-oriented reports for internal and external audiences. o Support the development of tools and mechanisms to track progress and measure the impact of the work of DCO/LAC. 5. Capacity Building and Knowledge Management: o Support knowledge sharing and dissemination of best practices to RCs and Heads of RC Offices across the region. o Support the organisation of meetings of the Network of Heads of RC Offices o Track and coordinate responses to operational and substantive requests from Heads of RC Offices, leveraging RCO platforms such as Signal and Teams. Qualifications/special skills- Advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in public administration, international relations, development studies, or a related field. - Strong organisational and analytical skills. - Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. - Proficiency in drafting high-quality reports and policy documents. - Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment. - At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in strategic planning, coordination, or management support roles within international organisations. - Experience in the UN system or a comparable international organisation is desirable. - Familiarity with the UN Development System reform processes and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
