ย Context ย โโโEstablished in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, inter-governmental and non-governmental partners. IOM in Brazil is implementing various projects addressing the protection, assistance, and integration needs of migrants, refugees and other vulnerable populations in Brazil. The Programme Support Unit is part of the Cooperation and Partnerships Division of IOM Brazil and it provides support to enable effective programme management. The Unit interacts with the Project Coordinators, Chief of Mission and senior management, Resource Management staff, Regional Office, Headquarters Programme Managers, as well as with Government counterparts and other relevant public/private sectorโs partner organizations. Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM) and direct supervision of the Head of Programme, and in collaboration with relevant units at Headquarters and Regional Office, the PSU Senior Project Associate is responsible for coordinating the Programme Support Unit in Brazil, providing institution support to programmatic areas in the Country Office with project development, donor and institutional reporting, knowledge management, liaison with the UN Country Team in Brazil, and implementing and mainstreaming of a Monitoring and Evaluation agenda, in line with IOMโs Strategic Vision, Strategic Results Framework (SRF), Project Handbook, as well as relevant donor requirements and other related IOM and UN policies and guidelines. In particular, the successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:โโย
- โโAssist in the planning, coordination, implementation and monitoring of project activities.
- โCompile, summarize, analyse, and present information/data on specific project topics, highlighting noteworthy issues for the consideration of appropriate parties.
- โMonitor budget implementation and propose adjustments as necessary.ย
- โAct as focal point for administrative coordination of project implementation, involving extensive liaison with diverse organizational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, follow-up on administrative actions, etc.ย
- โDraft status reports; identify shortfalls in delivery, bring them to the attention of the supervisor and suggest corrective measures.ย
- โDraft correspondence on project issues; prepare and update reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, and other forms of documentation.ย
- โOrganize meetings, workshops and training sessions; prepare training materials and participate in the delivering of capacity building workshops.ย
- โRespond to complex information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records. ย
- โParticipate in meetings and conferences; maintain effective liaison and coordination with local authorities, partners, United Nation agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, donors and other stakeholders relevant to the project. ย
- โMonitor work of implementing partners and report any non-compliance to the supervisor. ย
- โProvide inputs for the development of Standard Operations Procedures (SOP) and concept papers and provide general support for the development of new projects. ย

โBachelorโs degree in years of relevant experience; or, ยท Bachelorโs degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience.โย
Accredited Universities are those listed in theย UNESCO World Higher Education Database. ย ExperienceโExperience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non- governmental organizations;
Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi- cultural setting is an advantage.
