Collaborate with stakeholders, end-users, external suppliers and members of the team or other Agency services to gather and establish requirements, translate business objectives into functional specifications, and align solutions with the Aviation Sustainabilityโ€™s unit objectives. Verify that the delivered solutions fulfil the business objectives, functional specifications and are compliant with safety, security and quality standards. Develop, implement and automate test, including non-regression test, acceptance to ensure software quality and stability after changes or updates. Contribute to the preparation of the migration of systems/databases from on-premises infrastructure to cloud environments ensuring a smooth transition prioritizing data security and compliance, while addressing potential technical and operational problems. Develop, review, and maintain technical documentation (i.e. standards, processes) and user guides, to support efficient operation and maintenance. Ensure adherence to software development standards, policies, and security practices, and address any compliance discrepancies. Stay updated on latest technological developments/methods/best practices/trends and share them within the internal community to enhance organisational knowledge. Carry out any other task in line with the main purpose of the job.

Required qualifications, experience & competencies

Completed university studies in a relevant domain (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering or in another related technical field): of 4 years plus minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience or of 3 years plus minimum 4 years relevant professional experience Internal candidates can check on the intranet to see what level of in-house experience is considered equivalent to educational qualifications where appropriate. Experience with database design and data quality assurance (i.e. Oracle, ETL), including data migration skills especially from on-premises to cloud-based database systems. Experience with Databricks would be considered an advantage. Experience in software development, in particular experience with Java, Angular, React and Prime NG based solutions. Experience with conceiving and establishing application and non-regression testing of software solution. Experience and/ or knowledge in cloud technologies (i.e. Azure). Technical drafting (documentation) skills in English. Proficient Excel user would be considered an advantage Analytical thinking: you analyse information and are able to identify relationships. Problem-solving: you anticipate and solve business problems. Teamwork: you foster teamwork. Planning & organising: you know how to plan ahead and adapt as required. Result focus: you seek to improve personal performance. Ability to work in a multinational and multicultural environment. Professional conduct in line with the corporate behaviours of the Agency, i.e. result-driven, readiness to change, customer focus, integrity and team-player approach. The working languages of the Agency are English and French. For this particular job, candidates must be proficient users of English at level C1/C2. The selected candidate will be required to become a basic user of French at level A1 before the end of the probation period.
The levels relate to the European-framework-reference Common European Framework of References for languages (CEFR).

The selected candidate will be offered a contract for a duration of 5 Year(s) in accordance with the provisions of the Staff Regulations governing officials at EUROCONTROL. This contract may be renewed for a total duration of up to nine (9) years, or it may be converted into an undetermined contract. If selected, the person will keep their current type of appointment duration (undetermined or determined).
The internal staff member with a determined contract will be offered, in principle, an appointment for 5 Year(s) with a maximum total duration of 9 years. The successful candidate shall be appointed at the grade set out in this vacancy notice, or if a group of grades has been published for a job level, in principle at the basic grade of the published job level. Candidates declared suitable who are not selected for the post will be placed on a reserve list for similar roles. The reserve list will be valid for one year from the closing date of applications.
