Result of Service- High-quality multimedia content to promote the work of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) and the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ) designed and produced; - Supported the implementation of communication plans for CND and CCPCJ, and alignment with overall outreach strategies and visibility objectives ensured; - Photo and video content at events captured, edited, and produced; - Content for the CND and CCPCJ social media accounts managed by the Secretariat developed and post-approved in accordance with the Social Media Planner and brand guidelines; - CND and CCPCJ websites maintain and regularly updated, accuracy of content, visual consistency, and timely publication of relevant materials ensured; - Liaised with the Infrastructure Committee on rotunda banners, and with UNIS Vienna on availability and setup of rooms for recordings or filming; - Coordinated with Buildings Management Services and Conference Management Services for the setup of meeting rooms and event spaces, appropriate visibility and display of promotional materials ensured; - Branding guidelines for CND and CCPCJ across all communication and visibility materials updated and help provided thereto; - Supported the strategic development of visual identity for special initiatives; - Coordinated the procurement and timely delivery of promotional items and visibility products in line with UN procedures and quality standards; - Up-to-date multimedia equipment inventory maintained and structured storage and backup of digital assets and video/photo material managed. Work Locationhome-based with activities at the UNODC HQ in Vienna Expected duration04.08.2025 - 31.12.2025 Duties and ResponsibilitiesWithin the delegated authority and under the supervision of and in close consultation with staff in the Secretariat to the Governing Bodies working on substantive and communication matters, the consultant will: - Design and produce high-quality multimedia content to promote the work of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) and the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ), including graphic design products, videos, banners, and other promotional materials; - Support the implementation of communication plans for CND and CCPCJ, ensuring alignment with overall outreach strategies and visibility objectives; - Capture, edit, and produce photo and video content at events, including coverage of key meetings and messages from senior officials; - Develop and post approved content for the CND and CCPCJ social media accounts managed by the Secretariat, in accordance with the Social Media Planner and brand guidelines; - Maintain and regularly update the CND and CCPCJ websites, ensuring accuracy of content, visual consistency, and timely publication of relevant materials; - Liaise with the Infrastructure Committee on rotunda banners, and with UNIS Vienna on availability and setup of rooms for recordings or filming; - Coordinate with Buildings Management Services and Conference Management Services for the setup of meeting rooms and event spaces, ensuring appropriate visibility and promotional materials are displayed; - Update and help apply branding guidelines for CND and CCPCJ across all communication and visibility materials. Qualifications/special skillsEducation: An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in communications, graphic or digital design, public relations, development studies, or social sciences is required. A first-level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Work Experience: A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in managing or supporting work related to communications, training, media engagement, marketing and sales and/or public information/relations is required; Strong communication skills in a multicultural context, including ability to correctly interpret messages and adequately reflect input in written texts are required; Solid professional experience in the production of related products such as audio, videos, photos and graphics is required; Experience within the UN system or similar international organizations is desirable; Good interpersonal skills and a high degree of independent judgment and initiative are/is desirable; Excellent team working skills are required. LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the UN Secretariat. For this position, fluency in English (oral and written) is required; Knowledge of another official United Nations Secretariat language is an advantage. Additional InformationNot available.
