ย  Context

Under the overall supervision of the Head of Programme, the direct supervision of the AVRR Coordinator and in close coordination with relevant units at IOM Algeria, theย Senior Project Associate (AVRR Registration) will be responsible for supporting the supervision of the Assisted Voluntary Return (AVR) Counselling and Registration team. ย 

1.ย ย ย ย Support the day-to-day coordination of the AVR Counselling and Registration activities at the IOM Registration Centre, aligning to established internal procedures, standards, and guidelines.
2.ย ย ย ย Support the implementation and monitoring of staff monthly rotation system (including weekend coverage) for the team, in coordination with the senior management.ย 
3.ย ย ย ย In coordination with the AVRR Coordinator, assist in organizing and tracking training and mentoring activities for the AVR Counselling and Registration team including the induction of newly recruited staff as needed. ย 
4.ย ย ย ย In coordination with the AVR case workers, support the referral process of cases from the AVRR Registration team to the Protection Unit (PxD) and to the Health focal points in the Registration Centre.ย 
5.ย ย ย ย In coordination with the Operations Unit, liaise with the IOM DARV or the Protection Center ย Managers to support the arrangement of the pre-departure accommodation for registered migrants, in line with current procedures and timelines. ย 
6.ย ย ย ย Prepare and submit weekly reports to the AVRR Coordinator, outlining operational challenges and contributing suggestions for resolution.
7.ย ย ย ย Contribute to the preparation and follow-up of work plans and activities to support the implementation of the AVR Counselling and Registration Unitโ€™s objectives.
8.ย ย ย ย Assist in preparing and organizing technical meetings with key governmental and non-governmental stakeholders involved in the implementation of AVRR projects activities.
9.ย ย ย ย Support the rollout of capacity-building initiatives and contribute to the drafting of country-specific SOPs on AVRR.
10.ย ย ย ย Provide technical inputs to the development and revision of AVRR-related SOPs, guidelines and other operational documents, in coordination with relevant units.
11.ย ย ย ย Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Education

โ€ข ย ย ย ย Bachelorโ€™s degree in Development, Political or Social Sciences or a related field from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience

โ€ข ย ย ย ย Experience supporting migration-related projects, including operational and field level activities.
โ€ข ย ย ย ย Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions in a multicultural setting is an advantage.
โ€ข ย ย ย ย Experience supporting team coordination and collaborative work environments.
โ€ข ย ย ย ย Experience assisting in activities related to Migrant Protection and Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR).
โ€ข ย ย ย ย Experience liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions and Non- Governmental Organisations (NGOs) on matters related to migration issues.
