The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Brazil is implementing various projects addressing the protection, assistance, and integration needs of migrants, refugees and other vulnerable populations in Brazil. The Programme Support Unit is part of the Cooperation and Partnerships Division of IOM Brazil and it provides support to enable effective programme management. The Unit interacts with the Project Coordinators, Chief of Mission and senior management, Resource Management staff, Regional Office, Headquarters Programme Managers, as well as with Government counterparts and other relevant public/private sectorโs partner organizations.ย ย
Under the direct supervision of the Coordinator of the Programme Support Unit, the successful candidate will provide high-level technical assistance to the Programme Support related activities of the Unit, including, among others, project development, reporting, monitoring, and knowledge management activities.ย In particular, the person will have the following responsibilities:ย
- Support with the development of results-based projects, in close coordination with the PSU Coordinator and relevant Project Managers, by providing technical inputs, in line with IOM and donor requirements;ย
- Support with institutional review of proposals and concept notes, ensuring alignment to IOM global, regional and country strategies, including supporting and promoting use of Strategic Results Framework (SRF) global results and indicators;ย
- Support PSU and programmatic units with review of requirements, document programmatic needs, gaps and opportunities;ย
- Support the operational and administrative aspects of ongoing projects, as well as proposals and concept notes, including through PRIMA;ย
- Support with project narrative reports in accordance with IOM and donor requirements and in close coordination with involved units and technical experts;ย ย
- Maintain up-to-date database of all projects and programmes implemented by IOM Brazil;ย
- Support knowledge management for IOM Brazil, by backstopping the collection, curation, peer review and upload of relevant content by different units to the IOM Brazil SharePoint;
- Support with text editing, proofreading and translation to ensure quality of IOM products and materials;ย
- Support the training activities for IOM staff on humanitarian systems, internal processes and donor protocols;ย
- Perform other work-related tasks, as required.ย
Educationย
- High School diploma, with at least 4 (four) years of relevant work experience; or,
- University degree in Social Sciences, Business Administration, International Relations, or a related field from an accredited academic institution, with at least 2 (two) years of relevant work experience.
