The Information/Data Management (IM) Technical Officer, under the supervision of the Protection of Violence Project Manager and the technical guidance of the Specialist is responsible for the management, analysis and sharing of data and information related to the department activities. The IM Technical Officer is responsible for developing tools, processes and IM products aiming to inform humanitarian response. The IM Technical Officer is responsible to ensure data confidentiality processes and Protection Information Management (PIM) are in place and respected.

Generic responsibilities

๏‚ท Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines.
๏‚ท Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need of protection, explore and asses new and better ways to assist.
๏‚ท Ensure compliance with the Protection from Violence CC tools, handbooks, and guidelines.
๏‚ท Implement delegated PfV programming portfolio according to plan of action.
๏‚ท Prepare and develop status reports as required by management.
๏‚ท Ensure proper filing of documents.
๏‚ท Promote and share ideas for technical improvement.
๏‚ท Provide specific technical input and monthly reports for coordination mechanism (e.g. cluster coordination) and working groups.
๏‚ท Work closely with M&E on collecting and reporting data monthly and when needed.
๏‚ท Support capacity building initiatives for other staff members, especially regarding technical support needed for the implementation of the PfV activities.
๏‚ท Other duties, as assigned.

Specific responsibilities:

๏‚ท Ensure the PFV team has tools, processes, and capacity in place to collect, store, and share
accurate and timely information and data on sites/areas where IDPs and returnees located.
๏‚ท Contribute to develop appropriate tools and methodologies to conduct assessments, capture information gaps affecting the response and demographic data related to the target population.
๏‚ท Deliver technical trainings and in collaboration of the PfV Coordinators, coordinate enumerators responsible for data collection, making sure data is safely collected and stored.
๏‚ท Ensure regular, clear internal and external communication and reporting of data and
information from NRC areas of intervention.
๏‚ท Draft information products such as reports, charts and infographics by turning data into
graphic products to facilitate the dissemination of information to external stakeholders for
the purpose of reporting, information sharing and advocacy.
๏‚ท Design the layouts of reporting and presentation templates using graphic design programs
ensuring the attractiveness and clarity of the information products.
๏‚ท Ensure availability of updated and quality information for informed decision-making by NRCโ€™s
program team by identifying pertinent variables, including analysing and interpreting multiples
datasets, identifying trends and patterns in protection issues and humanitarian needs
affecting NRCโ€™s targeted beneficiaries.
๏‚ท Ensure the compliance of information systems and process with the applicable standards
and guidelines related to information management and data protection, including the
Protection Information Management (PIM) standards and principles and NRCโ€™s internal
guidelines.
๏‚ท Ensure filling system is in place (hard copies and soft copies) and ensure access is managed
properly, in cooperation with the Nile Area Office (NAO) PFV Coordinators (Gedaref & Kosti).
๏‚ท Cooperate with Digital Community Hub (DCH) staff for the purposes of referrals and
information sharing. Ensure data from the field and updated information being shared
monthly with DCH, to ensure harmonized communication with the targeted beneficiaries.
