Mission and objectivesUNICEF Innocenti – Global Office of Research and Foresight drives change for children and young people by generating evidence, collecting data, featuring the voices of children and offering foresight on frontier issues and emerging practices. Our work aims to inform policy and advocacy that will eventually help UNICEF and the global community protect the lives and rights of children, young people and families.
ContextUNICEF's Global Office of Research and Foresight has completed regional consultations with children and young people from 18 countries, along with UNICEF staff and experts from academia and civil society. The resulting document synthesizes key findings about children's participation in civil and political processes, highlighting barriers, innovations, and recommendations for various stakeholders. The finalized text requires thorough proof-reading to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency before publication as a polished resource that will effectively communicate the findings to stakeholders worldwide.
Task DescriptionThe selected online volunteer will conduct comprehensive proof-reading of the English version of the document \"Beyond being heard: the right of children and youth to participate in civil and political processes in a changing world\" (3,900 words) in two rounds maximum. This includes: - Verifying proper formatting of citations, footnotes, and reference lists, ensuring consistency in headings, subheadings, and section structure and cross-referencing content where applicable. - Following layout integration, conducting final proof-reading in PDF format to catch any remaining errors, formatting issues, or inconsistencies that may have occurred during the design process. - Preparing clean versions with tracked changes and editorial notes for both rounds.
