Mission and objectivesUNDP supports strategic capacity development initiatives to promote inclusive growth and sustainable human development. Together with national, regional and local authorities, civil societies, private sector, UNDP strives to support Ukraine in its efforts to eliminate poverty, develop peopleโs capacity, achieve equitable results, sustain the environment, and advance democratic governance. UNDP is in line with 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), to achieve national strategic capacity development.
ContextThe full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation on February 24, 2022, had serious consequences for civilians and regional stability. The conflict heavily impacted Ukraineโs health sector, damaging or destroying hundreds of medical facilities and resulting in over 1,500 verified attacks on healthcare. Public services, especially social services for vulnerable groups like persons with disabilities, were severely disrupted. As the conflict persisted, war-related injuries increased the demand for emergency care, long-term treatment, and rehabilitation. The growing number of people with disabilities placed pressure on medical and psychosocial services. In response, UNDP developed a rehabilitation-focused project to strengthen service delivery and promote the economic inclusion of persons with disabilities, while supporting the Ukrainian Governmentโs efforts to improve its rehabilitation system. The project aimed to achieve three key outputs: - Support the government in developing disability rights and rehabilitation policies. - Strengthen the capacity of rehabilitation institutions. - Improve access to socio-economic opportunities for persons with disabilities. To finalize the project, UNDP is seeking an English native speaker for proofreading to review and edit the final report to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency. Online volunteers will also receive feedback on their collaboration and quality of work.
Task DescriptionUNDP is seeking an Online Volunteer who is a native English speaker to proofread a report titled \"Supporting Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities Caused by the War.\" The report is approximately 8,200 words in length and consists of 12 A4 pages of English text focused on rehabilitation and support for persons with disabilities.
