Result of ServiceThe incumbent will provide support to the GFC Secretariat in managing and closing the GEF 9771 project. These services will contribute to the achievement of reporting tasks and the early implementation of the Global Framework on Chemicals workplan. Work LocationWorking remotely / Home based Expected duration7.5 months Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe tasks will include: • Overall project management and closure of final contracts • The collection of all deliverables • The creation and submission of all progress reports related to project closure • The creation and submission of the final expenditure report, in liaison with the finance team • The creation and submission of the final progress report (3 pages) • The creation and submission of the PiR and co-finance report for 2024/2025 (deadline: June 2025) as well as the draft PiR for 2025/2026 • Participation in the preparation of the project’s terminal evaluation, coordinated by the GEF team. • Support in organizing the final project steering committee. • The creation and submission of a project exit strategy • The consultant may be requested to support other activities of the GFC Secretariat as assigned by the project manager and as required during the closure period. Qualifications/special skillsAn advanced university degree (Master degree or equivalent) in International Relations, Project management, Political Sciences, Environmental Sciences or related field. University studies in combination with an additional three years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Professional experience of at least two (2) years with UNEP’s working environment and the management of GEF projects. • Proven experience in project management especially related to the management, reporting and closure of a GEF project. • Excellent communication skills with a strong sense of customer relations • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. LanguagesExcellent written and oral communication skills. Fluency in written and oral English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an asset.
