About the Hiring Group To address the growing opportunity space in energy technology development services for commercial clients, our Technology Advancement and Commercialization (TAC) business unit is expanding our pilot facility to increase capacity for energy development projects, scale-up and test campaigns. This expanded facility includes over 20,000 sq ft of covered process bays with utilities infrastructure and additional indoor, climate-controlled space for control rooms and analytical labs. In collaboration with TAC leadership, and reporting to RTI’s Senior Manager of Facilities Engineering, the Facilities Management team is currently seeking a Pilot Facility Site Manager to oversee and coordinate the administration and operations of vendors, systems, and project activities that support the effective functioning and maintenance of RTI’s pilot plant facility and premises. As the Pilot Facility Site Manager, you will participate in process and project analysis and collaborate on the maintenance of facility systems, including mechanical, electrical, fire and life safety, plumbing, and waste management, in partnership with plant operators. As the primary coordinator for pilot operations, you will manage the master schedule and maintain operational control of the site. This involves establishing, updating, and enforcing safety procedures in partnership with RTI’s Environment, Health, and Safety team. You will also oversee management of change procedures for site and project modifications or improvements. Additionally, you will actively participate in process hazards analyses such as PHA, HAZOP, and LOPA, providing feedback and ensuring implementation of resulting recommendations. Support is also provided to engineering leads and project managers by securing the resources needed for process reviews, project installations, startup, operations, and decommissioning. What You'll Do Additional responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Coordinate with maintenance group on preventive maintenance schedules and operational and safety protocols in alignment with AHJ and institute guidelines. Ensure facilities maintenance work follows safety standards, conforms to specifications, and work orders are tracked and completed within the budgeted guidelines. On-call responsibilities tied to critical equipment within the plant space. Proactively troubleshoot and identify issues, and coordinate with facilities management, technical staff and contractors to resolve quickly and efficiently. Coordinate technical project onboarding and turnover, engaging with RTI technical and client teams as well as facilities management to ensure smooth project operations and transitions. Support operational, project and/or organizational milestones/goals and budgetary requirements. Provide operational oversight and stay abreast of new methodologies to maintain cost efficiency and/or advance the business. Responsible for identifying and implementing procedures and improvements to work processes for efficient operations and communications across stakeholder groups. Participate in business development activities including meetings with prospective clients. To be successful in this role you will possess competency in the following areas: Compressed gases, electrical safety (arc flash, LOTO), Electrical Area Classification, PIT safety Hazardous gas monitoring systems Construction management Understanding of applicable codes and standards (building codes, NFPA, ANSI, UL) Machinery and equipment maintenance Budget management What You'll Need Bachelor's level degree in Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering and 8 years of experience, or: Master's level degree in Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering and 6 years of experience Demonstrated on hands experience in industrial, power, chemical production or similar pilot plant facility operations with operational management responsibilities.
