Technology and connectivity are rapidly reaching some of the most vulnerable people and places affected by crisis, but they are also increasingly expanding to the services responding to those same crises. As one of the main humanitarian actors, WFP has the opportunity and the obligation to leverage data and technology to better know and serve those in need by digitally transforming the way it works. Data and technology are indeed helping WFP reach vulnerable people more quickly and effectively. Data is a key enabler and the ability to collect, safely store, govern, manage, and transform data to support better decision making for WFP activities and foster new innovations.

The Technology Division (TEC) has embarked on a transformation journey to become a flexible, customer-centric, digital leader. Data Services is a foundation stone of the WFP plan aimed at enabling the business to make data-driven decisions to inform strategic direction, analysing the success of initiatives and impact of WFP operations while ensuring data security and privacy.
