This is a hybrid position which requires 8 days per month in the office. You will be based in our office in Hague. Existing work authorization is required at the time of application submission as WRI is unable to sponsor any visa work sponsorship for this position.

Job Highlight:
Reporting to the Regional Manager, Accounting and Finance, you will assist with essential financial operations, including monthly reconciliations, expense processing, payroll support, and preparation of financial reports. You will also support critical project accounting tasks, statutory compliance, and contribute to the annual financial closure and audit processes. You will integrate equity into your work.
You will be supported by the Europe Accounting Team and the wider Europe Operations team.
What you will do:
Monthly Financial Reconciliations (35%):
- Assist in preparing monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts
- Support the processing and review of staff expense reports, ensuring compliance with WRI policies
Project Accounting and Tracking (25%):
- Help with project accounting tasks, including setting up project codes
- Track financial transactions related to specific projects
- Support the preparation of financial reports for internal stakeholders
Statutory and Regulatory Compliance (20%):
- Work with team members to ensure compliance with European statutory financial regulations
- Contribute to the year-end financial reporting process
- Participate actively in audit activities
Financial Reporting and Audit Support (20%):
- Support the preparation and review of financial reports
- Contribute to the year-end financial reporting and audit process
- Collaborate with auditors during financial audits
What you will need:
- Education: You have a completed bachelorโs degree in finance, Accounting, business or a related field. Relevant work experience is accepted in lieu of a degree
- Experience: You have 1+ years of full-time relevant work experience including in accounting or finance. Full-time internships are counted as full-time experience
- Demonstrated understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
- Experience with ERP systems (such as Costpoint or Workday) is desirable
- Knowledge of The Netherlands accounting regulations is desirable
- Languages: Verbal and written proficiency in English
- Requirements: Existing work authorization is required where this position is based. WRI is unable to authorize visa work authorization.
Potential Salary:
โฌ42,000 - 53,000
Salary is commensurate with experience and other compensable factors.
