Internal and external candidates will be considered for this vacancy. ย Context
In close collaboration with national authorities through the project โPromotion of the integration of the refugee population into the labor marketโ IOM aims at promoting the integration of the refugee population into the labor market, through:ย
a) the further development and maintenance of a stable, effective, flexible and adapted to the needs of beneficiaries and companies labor integration mechanism, andย
b) the implementation of complementary and interconnected activities regarding the proper preparation of refugees and the organized cooperation with businesses and other stakeholders.
Under the overall supervision of the National Project Coordinator and the direct supervision of the Project Assistant, the successful candidate will provide support in the implementation of project field activities related to construction.
- Assist in the implementation of project activities, by ensuring that all carried out procedures meet IOM standards and project specific requirements, as well as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Support the monitoring services of the assigned area, and project activities through physical verification, project means of verification, field visits and report to the National Project Coordinator, as required.
- Assist in the creation of tools and SOPs to ensure the provision of quality services and monitoring of the project activities. Collaborate with other field monitors in ensuring consistency in implementation of tools and SOPs.
- Timely submission of field reports and any other necessary information to the relevant National Project Coordinator and Project Assistant.
- Assist in the logistical preparation and implementation of training sessions, info sessions, workshops, meetings, and other activities pertaining to IOM projects.
- Collaborate with IOM Units/departments, and other relevant external actors to ensure timely and efficient provision of project activities.
- Assist in the operational and administrative activities of the project.
- Prepare briefings for the IOMโs visitors upon their arrival on the field regarding the current status of the project
- Undertake frequent duty travel to carry out field monitoring activities of the assigned area.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned. Education
- Bachelorโs degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience.
- Masterโs degree in above fieldsย will be consideredย an advantage. Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. ย Experience
- At least one year of working experience with relevant construction areas;ย
- Previous experience with National funding an advantage;
- Experience working in the field of site management, urban settings, other accommodation schemes and/ or educational, capacity building activities preferred;
- Experience in providing data and feedback to the monitoring and evaluation team. Skills
- Familiar with direct assistance to migrants and/or refugees;ย
- Strong interpersonal and communication, writing, drafting and presentations skills;ย
- Ability to write in a clear and concise manner;
- Proficient use of commonly used IT equipment and the appropriate software solutions;
- Proficient in a Microsoft Office environment and office software packages;
- Knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web-based management systems, data consolidation, analysis and visualization;
- Demonstrated effective organizational skills and ability to handle work in an efficient and timely manner;
- Ability to develop and maintain effective work relationships with counterparts;
- Strong work ethics and commitment to humanitarian principles;ย
- Valid driving license with at least five years of driving experience. Languages
