EPIDEMIOLOGIST (VISITOR-BASED SURVEILLANCE)

OBJECTIVE

The objective of the Epidemiologist (Visitor-based Surveillance) is to strengthen and expand monitoring and response to travel related illnesses through the identification of associated disease trends, clusters and outbreaks or other adverse health events, information generation from ongoing data analysis, environmental scans and research and establishment of rapid response systems to promote and protect public health.

The consultant will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the Tourism and Health Program, with particular focus on the Caribbean Vessel Surveillance System (CVSS) and Tourism and Health Information System (THiS) in the highlighted CARPHA Member States, supporting the full integration of visitor-based surveillance into the existing national health surveillance system. This consultant will also provide technical input toward the expanded implementation of the Healthier, Safer Tourism Award across these CMS and the Integrated Caribbean Travellerโ€™s Health Mobile App.
