The purpose of the Emergency Response Officer is day to day implementation of the emergency response project activities inย NRCsโ East Area Office.ย

Ensure adherence to NRC policies, tools, handbooks, guidelines, and donor requirements, with strict adherence to the Code of Conduct and Child Safeguarding Policies Implement delegated Education activities according to proposals, budgets, and work plans, in line with donor requirements. Prepare periodic status reports and other documents as required by management. Ensure proper filing of documents. Create weekly, monthly, and quarterly implementation plans from proposal plans. Represent NRC and coordinate with local-level education stakeholders. Promote the rights of refugees, IDPs, returnees, and the host community in line with SPHERE Minimum Standards. Assist with capacity-building activities. Promote and share ideas for technical improvement. Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need, explore and assess new and better ways to assist.Specific responsibilitiesย
Generic professional competencies:ย
Minimum 2 years of experience of working in in a humanitarian/recovery context or equivalent. Minimum 2 years of technical experience in WASH and/or shelter construction fields. Bachelor Degree or above in civil, structural engineering, water engineering, or any relevant field. Minimum 2 years of experience working at same level of position or above. Experience in cash and voucher-based programming is an added advantage. Proven experience from working as a Project Officer in a humanitarian/emergency context. Previous experience working in emergency projects in complex and volatile contexts. Good working knowledge of English. Knowledge of the local context and local dynamics of NRC are of operations is an advantage. Political and cultural awareness and experience of working where insecurity is a major issue. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. โ Good computer skills including good knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel. Solid field experience, preferably from refugee/IDP programmes. Experience working in rapid onset emergency response and preparedness.Behavioural competencies:
