The NRC Education Programme in Libya provides learning support, life skills, and capacity-building opportunities for children, youth, and teachers. To ensure the effective implementation and monitoring of activities, additional support is required at the field level.ย
The Education Assistant will play a key role in supporting the registration and attendance of participants, assisting with monitoring visits, and providing general administrative and logistical support to the Education team.ย ย
Roles and responsibilitiesย
The Education Assistant supports the implementation of Education and Youth activities by ensuring accurate participant registration, attendance tracking, and proper documentation. The role assists in field-level monitoring, activity preparation, coordination with participants, and basic reporting needs. Working closely with the Education Officer, the Education Assistant contributes to smooth daily implementation, compliance with NRC standards, and effective support to community-based learning activities. The position plays a key role in maintaining organized data, supporting safe and inclusive learning environments, and ensuring the continuity of programme activities.ย
Generic Responsibilitiesย ย
Ensure adherence to NRC policies, guidelines, and quality standards in all Education and Youth activities.ย
Support the implementation of field activities in accordance with work plans, instructions from the Education Officer, and programme objectives.ย
Assist with participant registration, attendance tracking, and maintenance of accurate, organized documentation.ย
Ensure that inclusion, gender equality, safeguarding, child protection, and Safe and Inclusive Programming (SIP) principles are integrated throughout all activities.ย
Support logistical arrangements needed for activity implementation, such as preparing materials, organizing venues, and coordinating with participants.ย
Assist in monitoring and data collection to contribute to reporting, programme learning, and accountability.ย
Maintain proper archiving of programme documents in both hardcopy and digital formats, following NRC data management procedures.ย
Communicate effectively with participants, community members, and local stakeholders in coordination with the Education Officer.ย
Carry out any other related tasks as assigned by the Education Officer, Education TL or Education Coordinator.ย

Specific responsibilities:ย
Support accurate registration of learners and other participants in all Education and Youth activities, ensuring complete and up-to-date participant records.ย
Ensure attendance sheets are correctly filled and collected during activities and properly filed afterward.ย
Prepare, organize, and maintain digital and hardcopy records of participant data, attendance sheets, and monitoring forms.ย
Accompany staff during monitoring visits to project locations and assist with collecting attendance, feedback, and basic monitoring data.ย
Support with note-taking, translation (when needed), and communicating key messages to participants during monitoring or activity visits.ย
Assist Education Officers in preparing and organizing learning sessions, workshops, and training activities.ย
Provide logistical support by arranging materials, setting up venues, coordinating with participants, and helping ensure activities run smoothly.ย
Ensure that activities follow NRCโs safeguarding, child protection, inclusion, and gender-sensitive standards.ย
Support in compiling simple reports summarizing activity implementation, attendance, participant numbers, and key observations from the field.ย
Ensure all documents are properly archived and stored according to NRCโs data management and confidentiality requirements.ย
Oversee the proper use, storage, and distribution of materials used in education and youth activities at theย ย
Ensure safeguarding standards, protection principles, and SIP Minimum Standards are fully integrated into all stages of programme delivery.ย
Facilitate safe and appropriate referrals following NRCโs Referral SOP, ensuring confidentiality, informed consent, and proper documentation.ย
Strengthen team capacity through ongoing coaching, mentoring, and identification of training needs for field staff.ย
Support visibility and communication efforts by contributing success stories, photos, and documentation of key achievements.ย

Bachelor's degree in education, Social Sciences, Management, or a related field.ย ย
Minimum 1 years of experience working with youth, education, or vocational training projects.ย ย
Previous experience in complex or volatile contexts.ย ย
Strong documentation, reporting, and analytical skills.ย ย
Fluency in English and Arabic (written and spoken).ย ย
Knowledge of NGO operations, humanitarian principles, and donor compliance.ย ย
Experience in community mobilization and participatory training facilitation.ย ย
