These strategic locations have allowed NRC greater reach from the north and south parts of the North-East and North Central region and allowed NRC to contribute to bridging the gap between humanitarian aid and development cooperation, including by focusing on equitable access to basic services and strengthening the rights of displaced people and returnees. In addition to the Country Office and the above-mentioned Area Offices, NRC has sub-office structures in Dikwa, Monguno, Biu, Mubi, Pulka, and Gwoza.

If you are those people, the Norwegian Refugee Council in Nigeria is looking for an enthusiastic, passionate Experienced Education Technical Assistant to join our team in Area South, Mubi Adamawa State.
Generic responsibilities
Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks, and guidelinesImplement activities based on project and program requirementsPrepare status reports for internal and external reportingEnsure proper filing of documents and means of verificationIdentify and share ideas for improvement of the Education programSpecific responsibilities
Plan and implement program activities in compliance with project log frame, budget, work plan, and proposal and with NRC, donor, and humanitarian practices.Liaise with government education stakeholders for effective coordinationMobilize communities to support learning opportunities and educational participationIdentify and register children and youth for learning activities based on NRC and donor criteriaPlan, oversee and document the distribution of materials and supplies for learning, verifying that amounts received and distributed, and recording any losses.Monitor activities and ensure accuracy of data collection and tracking of community feedback and complaints in coordination with NRC's Protection and Complaints and Feedback Units.Ensure that learning spaces are safe for learners and report any protection concernsSupervise learning facilitators and enumerators and report performance concernsProvide training to teachers on pedagogy, child protection, and NRCโs Better Learning ProgramDevelop weekly work plans and other key implementation planning documentsMonitor implementation and provide recommendations to improve the quality of implementationCoordinate with other NRC programs, other organizations implementing education activities and actively participate in Education in Emergencies Working Group meetings. At least 2 years experience in a similar position with a national or international NGO or a United Nations organization in the northeast of NigeriaBachelorโs degree in education or a related fieldExperience in activity planning and budget managementExperience working with and mobilizing communitiesFluent English - speaking, reading, writingAnalytic and computer skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPointFormal or non-formal teaching experience preferredExperience working in humanitarian or development activities in the northeast of NigeriaFluent spoken Hausa language, with other local languages an advantageHandling insecure environmentPlanning and delivering resultsEmpowering and building trustCommunicating with impact and respect
