NRC has been active in Somalia since 2004 with four area offices in Kismayu, Mogadishu, Garowe and Hargeisa, providing protection and humanitarian assistance to refugees, internally displaced persons and returnees in Somaliland, Puntland, South Central and Jubaland regions. Under the World Food Programโs (WFP) funding, the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is spearheading a Cash-Based Transfer (CBT) and In Kind (IK) project in South Central Somalia.The project operates within the districts of Herale, Hurshe and Mirjicley,. Through ten rounds of cash-based transfers, the initiative aims to support displacement-affected communities to access immediate food needs, covering 80% of the Minimum Expenditure Basket (MEB) recommended by the Cash and Market Working Group.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Food Distribution Supervisor will be responsible of supervising, reporting, planning, and organizing the processes of food distribution in the assigned target locations.
Supervise and Train Staff: Oversee the activities of scope registrars to ensure compliance with NRC standards. Provide ongoing training and support to all scope registrars, ensuring that they are proficient in using the biometric registration system and SCOPE database. Quality Control of Data: Conduct regular audits of the registration data entered into the system to ensure accuracy and completeness. Address any discrepancies and implement corrective actions promptly. Report Preparation and Submission: Compile, review, and submit comprehensive monthly and quarterly reports on registration activities, highlighting progress and identifying any challenges and solutions. Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the main point of contact for stakeholders, including local communities and WFP representatives.ย Resource Management: Manage and allocate resources effectively, ensuring that registration equipment is maintained properly and that any technical issues are resolved swiftly. Compliance and Ethical Standards: Ensure that all operations comply with the NRCโs ethical standards and local regulations. Promote transparency and accountability in all transactions. Crisis Management: Respond to emergencies or unexpected problems affecting the registration process and make decisions that can mitigate risks to the projectโs goals.Skills and qualifications
Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience: Bachelorโs degree in information technology, Management, or related fields. Advanced knowledge of database management, particularly WFP SCOPE database. Strong leadership skills and experience in managing teams. Experience: At least 3 years of supervisory experience in humanitarian aid projects, with a focus on registration or data management. Proven ability to handle and resolve conflicts in high-pressure situations. Previous work experience in Biometric scope registrations and the ability to provide basic maintenance-related issues is required. Skills and Personal Attributes: Excellent organizational and communication skills. Proficiency in Somali and English, both written and spoken. Demonstrated ability to train and motivate staff. High integrity and the ability to adapt to dynamic environments. A strong sense of responsibility and the ability to make decisions quickly.More Information:
