ContextThe WHO Liberia Communications and Branding strategy provides a framework to support the organisationโs efforts to communicate on the priorities above, ensure that all staff speak with one voice across the organisation, and position WHO as a trusted and effective partner in the country's health sector. As part of implementing the office's communications and branding strategy, the incumbent volunteer will work closely with the External Communications Officer to develop innovative digital initiatives, manage social media, create engaging content, analyze metrics, and partner with stakeholders to support and maintain WHO Liberiaโs digital presence.
Task DescriptionWithin the delegated authority and under the supervision of the External Communications Officer, the Digital Communication Assistant will undertake the following tasks: โ Design and implement digital communication strategies to enhance WHO Liberiaโs visibility and reach. โ Develop, manage and grow audiences on WHO Liberia's various social media platforms: Facebook, X (formerly known as Twitter), Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn, ensuring engaging and persuasive communication. โ Deploy scheduling and analytic tools to optimize WHO Liberia social media channels. Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) like reach, engagement, and follower growth to improve campaign effectiveness and inform communication strategy โ Produce a variety of digital content, including high-quality photos and videos, social media posts, flyers, infographics, banners, and other graphic design products. โ Create innovative digital campaigns for WHO health thematic days and UN health-related days. โ Engage and develop strong partnerships with digital and social media stakeholders, such as influencers, media houses, and brand ambassadors, to amplify our key health messages and expand our audience reach, particularly among youth. โ Identify training needs for strengthening social media and web storytelling capacity of WHO Liberia staff, and participate in the delivery of internal workshops and training related to content creation and engagement. โ Support in the implementation of the brand and corporate identity during the WHO external and internal events. โ Perform any other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor

Living conditions and remarksAs this is a National UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials. National UN Volunteers are part of the malicious insurance plan. Conditions of Service for National UN Volunteers The contract lasts for the period indicated above with possibility of extensions subject to availability of funding, operational necessity and satisfactory performance. However, there is no expectation of renewal of the assignment. Travel to duty station (if applicable) and a Settling-In-Grant will be provided in the event the duty station is not within commuting distance from the place of recruitment. The applicable Volunteer Living Allowance is provided monthly to cover housing, utilities and normal cost of living expenses. Life, health and permanent disability insurance are included (health insurance for up to 3 dependents), as well as final repatriation (if applicable) and resettlement allowance for satisfactory service.
