Result of ServiceThe Data Performance Consultant delivers validated, high-quality data science products that are fully integrated into organizational planning, performance management, and decision-making processes. The Consultant designs and maintains reliable analytical models, KPIs, interactive dashboards, automated reporting tools, and compelling data visualizations—including dashboards, presentation decks, infographics, and related products—to showcase the work and results of the Office. Work LocationRemote and New York Expected duration9 months Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis position is located in the UN Office for Partnerships (UN Partnerships). Guided by the priorities of the UN Secretary-General, UN Partnerships is the gateway to the UN system to connect and co-create partnerships to deliver solutions to reach everyone, everywhere. In its role as a connector, UN Partnerships proactively engages, convenes and leverages stakeholders, initiatives and solutions in support of the Decade of Action to deliver the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). UN Partnerships oversees the UN Fund for International Partnerships (UNFIP), the UN Democracy Fund (UNDEF), and the SDG Advocates programme. The incumbent will predominantly support initiatives of UNOP and report to the Chief of Operations and work closely with other team members. Within delegated authority, the Data Performance Consultant will be responsible for the following duties: • Studies, explores, and evaluates new and existing data sources to determine their effectiveness and accuracy for use in decision making, and assess their suitability for actionable output. Provide data-driven recommendations to stakeholders. • Lead on data analysis and visualization. Collect, clean, and organize large datasets from various sources. Perform advanced data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies. Create interactive dashboards and visualizations in Power BI for real-time monitoring of key metrics. Automate data collection and reporting processes to improve efficiency. • Designs and builds predictive data science products, such as visualizations, models or AI/ML algorithms for initial simulations or prototypes and subsequent ingestion into mainstream software applications. • Analyzing and interpreting complex datasets to generate actionable insights. • Lead on the development, tracking, and evaluation of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Design methodologies to measure and track KPIs effectively. Creating dynamic and interactive dashboards using Power BI and other visualization tools. Provide regular updates and recommendations based on KPI insights. • Support the evaluation of partnership programs by analyzing performance data. Contribute to impact assessments and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) processes. Develop data-driven recommendations for program improvements. • Develops products, tools and processes to periodically validate the effectiveness of data science products and their expected and observed benefits. Assesses impact using key performance indicators; Iteratively improve products based on findings. • Preparing high-quality reports, evaluation summaries, and donor reports. Prepare comprehensive narrative reports with clear visual representations of data insights. • Engages in complex research and analyses to develop data products; uses internal and publicly available data and information. • Demonstrated experience and proficiency in using CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce/ MS Dynamics). • Contributes to short- and long-term planning of the organization and assists in identifying threats and opportunities to the successful implementation of mandates. • Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes. • Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy. Ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and relevance to support evidence-based decision-making. Responsible for the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of all data used in reports, dashboards, and visualizations • Automate reporting templates to streamline data processes. • Perform other duties as required. Qualifications/special skillsAdvanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in data science, computer science, information management, statistics, public administration, public information, management or a related field. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in data science, data analytics, applied mathematics, information management or related area. Demonstrated experience leading advanced data analysis, automation, and visualization is required Proven experience developing predictive or analytical data science products is required Experience designing, tracking, and evaluating KPIs and performance frameworks is required Demonstrated experience and proficiency in using CRM systems is desired LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
