About this position

We are looking for a meticulous, communicative and strategic data governance consultant to join the Regional and Sectoral Data Group within our Research Department.

The Regional and Sectoral Data Group (RSD) coordinates and supports the efficient management and governance of regional and sectoral data generated or obtained through research, knowledge, and operational work that is not produced in the Bankโ€™s systems nor owned by the Bank but falls under the responsibility and/or custody of the IDB. This includes both traditional (censuses, surveys, administrative records) and non-traditional (social networks, digital footprints, satellite imagery, etc.) data sources extensively used across various departments.

As part of the Data Governance Structure (DGS), the group enforces best practices in data stewardship, metadata management, security, and compliance to enhance data accessibility and usability.

To support these efforts, the RSD seeks a data governance consultant to assist in the adherence of governance frameworks, data quality initiatives, and compliance monitoring. The consultant will work closely with the Data Governance Specialist, executing day-to-day governance tasks and ensuring alignment with institutional policies.
