Desired start date 9 June 2025 Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis internship is located in the Communications & Outreach Unit (COU) under the Project Management Office (PMO) of the United Nations Office of Information and Communications Technology (OICT). The intern will work with the COU under the supervision of the COU Team Lead. The internship is UNPAID and full-time (five days per week for 35 hours), for a minimum duration of three (3) months and can be extended up to six (6) months. The internship is offered in-person or fully remote depending on applicantโs location. Compliance with UN information security rules and regulations will be mandatory (ST/SGB/2004/15). The intern will provide support to the OICT Communications team to promote the work of OICT and its personnel by producing engaging multimedia content. Examples of duties to be performed will include any or all of the following: โข Create short videos for OICT projects, initiatives and teams for social media coverage. โข Assist with production of supporting graphics incl. social media assets. โข Provide script writing/editing support. โข Post-production of acquired footage: โข Edit videos to create a final version for publishing on OICT social media. โข Optimize graphics and video content for web and social media platforms. โข Help create graphics and web banners for ICT stories as needed. โข Assist in other ad-hoc communications related activities as instructed. โข Propose new ideas and suggestions for improving media coverage. Qualifications/special skillsTo qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Programme, applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or, (b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the FINAL academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent). Skills needed: โข Adobe (Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator) or Canva, Microsoft Clipchamp, iMovie or proficiency in using any other online video making/editing and design tool. โข Office 365 Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams). โข Knowledge of SharePoint Online Platform. โข Knowledge of Drupal Platform. No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. Your training, education, advance course work or skills should benefit the United Nations during your internship. Have you completed an UN Internship before?
