UNHCR is recruiting an Associate PPH Officer (Partnership Manager) in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Established in December 1950, UNHCR is mandated to lead and coordinate international action to protect and assist refugees and to find durable solutions to their plight. During more than seven decades, UNHCR has helped more than 84 million people restart their lives. Today, UNHCR staff in more than 135 countries continue to help and protect millions of refugees, returnees, internally displaced and stateless people.

UNHCR has relocated several key functions from our Headquarters in Geneva to UN City in Copenhagen, including UNHCRโ€™s Private Sector Partnerships Service (PSP), which supports UNHCRโ€™s growing engagement with the general public and the private sector in all regions of the world.

UNHCRโ€™s Private Sector Partnerships team for Denmark was established in 2018 and covers both individual giving and partnerships with Danish foundations, corporates and individual philanthropists. PSP Denmark is experiencing strong growth. One of our key priorities is to further accelerate the Private Partnerships and Philanthropy (PPH) programme and expand and deepen our partnerships with foundations and corporates in Denmark.

To achieve this goal, PSP Denmark is hiring an experienced colleague to manage and further develop a number of new strategic partnerships with large foundations and corporates in Denmark.

The position:

This new position sits within the PPH team, which currently consists of 4 persons who all work closely with the rest of the PSP Denmark team engaged in press, campaigns and individual giving. The PPH team works in a very informal and non-hierarchical manner with strong collaboration across functions and frequent interactions with regional and global colleagues, including technical teams in the field operations.

Scope of Assignment:

Reporting on a day-to-day basis to the Head of the PPH team in Denmark and working very closely with the rest of the PPH team, the tasks of the Associate PPH Officer will be the following:

โ€ข Act as the Account Manager for existing public health related partnerships with major foundations and corporates and ensure strategic direction, relationship management, reporting, partnership communication as well as day to day account management, including internal and external administrative tasks;
โ€ข Further grow and deepen other existing partnerships with key foundations and corporates;
โ€ข Build new relationships with foundations, corporates and individual philanthropists with the aim to establish new, high-value partnerships;
โ€ข Identify, draft and present compelling proposals to potential donors and partners, in close collaboration with global and regional PSP colleagues, relevant technical teams and select UNHCR country operations;
โ€ข Organize events for donors, partners and prospects;
โ€ข Ensure compelling partnership and thematic communication on UNHCRโ€™s digital channels in Denmark, as relevant, in close collaboration with regional and global communication teams;
โ€ข Perform any other related duties and tasks as required.

Essential minimum qualifications and professional experience required
The ideal candidate will be required to have:

Education and Work experience:

โ€ข Degree in International Relations, Political Science, Communications, Development Studies, Public Health, Marketing/Business Administration or a related field is mandatory for this position;
โ€ข Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience with an Undergraduate degree (equivalent of a Bachelorโ€™s); 2 years relevant work experience with a Graduate degree (equivalent of a Masterโ€™s); or 1 year relevant work experience with a Doctorate degree (equivalent of a PhD).
โ€ข Solid work experience and proven track record with private sector fundraising and/or complex partnership management in a not-for-profit organization, international organization, large corporate, foundation or similar, ideally within public health;
โ€ข Substantial experience in complex account management and capacity to balance the needs of multiple stakeholders to achieve mutual benefit;
โ€ข Proven experience in preparing and developing plans for further partnership growth and income generation, as well as achieving set targets;
โ€ข Experience in managing partner visibility as well as joint partnership advocacy and strategic communication opportunities;
โ€ข Experience with organizing events and high-level meetings;
โ€ข Experience with managing complex internal processes;
โ€ข Experience within corporate social responsibility, ESG criteria, European Sustainability Reporting Standards, UN Sustainable Development Goals is considered an asset;
โ€ข Previous experience working with UNHCR, another UN organization or a humanitarian NGO is an asset.

Desirable:

โ€ข Knowledge of public health issues in a humanitarian and development context;
โ€ข Access to a network of contacts at senior management level within corporates, foundations and the wider business community in Denmark;
โ€ข Understanding of the Danish fundraising and partnership environment.

Location and Conditions:

The successful candidate will work with the team in UN City in Copenhagen, Denmark.
This position is associated with a yearly contract, initially issued until the end of the year and with a possibility of extension on a yearly basis. It is a full-time role of 40 hours per week.
The salary is based on the local UN NO (National Officer) salary scale.
