The mission is composed of approx. 20 expatriates and about 150 national staffs. Objectives for the mission for 2024 is to build on its Emergency Response capacity to expand in hard-to-reach areas and develop qualitative interventions responding to emergency and protracted needs, while enhancing resilience.

About the job
General objective:
The Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WaSH) Project Manager is in charge of implementing and achieving the objectives defined in the proposals. He/she is in charge of supervising the operational teams allocated to his/her program.
He/she guarantees the proper execution and the quality of the implemented program and, if applicable, suggests adjustments or developments to ensure its relevance.
The main challenges:
Persistent waterborne disease risk due to unreliable or absent chlorination in Yemenโs rural water systems.
Weak technical capacity: Most local water committees lack skills or resources to maintain chlorination equipment and monitor chlorine levels.Operational-research gap: Limited in-country evidence on the effectiveness, acceptability, and sustainability of automated (in-line) chlorination in humanitarian settings.
Complex implementation environment: Conflict dynamics, logistical bottlenecks, and limited access add layers of challenge to deploying technically precise water treatment.
High-stakes coordination: Requires smooth collaboration between SI, GiveWell, Tufts University researchers, and local partners to align field operations with rigorous research protocols.
Priorities for the 2/3 first months:
Lead detailed startup planning, including final site selection, timeline validation, procurement planning, and team structuring.
Coordinate with SI technical advisors, Tufts University, and IWW to finalize field protocols, monitoring tools, and operational/research interfaces.
Supervise installation readiness assessments of the selected water systems to ensure compatibility with chlorination technologies.
Oversee operator refresher trainings and ensure community engagement strategies are aligned with chlorination rollout.
Security constraints : Al Mokha bases operate within an unpredictable security environment. This environment imposes humanitarian access constrains sometimes for INGOs.
