UNICRI is mandated to assist intergovernmental, governmental and non-governmental organizations in formulating and implementing improved policies in the field of crime prevention and criminal justice. UNICRI' s goals are: โข to advance understanding of crime-related problems; โข to foster just and efficient criminal justice systems; โข to support the respect of international instruments and other standards; โข to facilitate international law enforcement cooperation and judicial assistance. Under the overall supervision of the Chief, Centralized Management Unit (CMU), and the technical guidance of the Associate Public Information Officer and the IT Unit, respectively, the Web Developer will be required to perform the following tasks: a) Assess the current UNICRI websites on appearance and handling. b) Conduct regular reviews of the Drupal siteโs design and User Experience (UX). c) Implement approved design updates and layout improvements. d) Optimize site performance, accessibility, and responsiveness concerning usability. e) Provide technical content management solutions (incl. enhancing the editor features). f) Collaborate with the IT and Communication department on site improvements. g) Ensure updates comply with security and privacy best practices. h) Provide Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for every necessary Drupal configuration and maintenance tasks on the UNICRI website. Qualifications/special skillsAn advanced university degree (a masterโs degree or equivalent) in information technology, systems engineering, Management Information Systems (MIS), or related field is required. A bachelorโs degree in the same fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying work experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree. A minimum of five years of experience working with Drupal, preferably version 9 or higher, is required. Demonstrated strong front-end development skills, including proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Twig is required. Experience with PHP and Drupal theming is required, along with a solid understanding of WCAG accessibility standards. Experience in responsive web design is required. LanguagesFor this position, fluency in oral and written English is required. Additional InformationThis shall be a home-based part-time assignment (remote work), with possible travels to UNICRI HQ in Turin, Italy, if needed.
