ContextThe Kenya School of Government (KSG) is a government training institution dedicated to enhancing the quality of public service delivery in Kenya through training, research, and consultancy. KSG's mandate includes equipping public servants with the necessary skills, knowledge, and tools to serve citizens while cultivating a culture of excellence within the public sector. KSG has initiated a comprehensive training program focused on customer service excellence in response to a government directive. This program is designed to improve the responsiveness and effectiveness of public institutions in serving citizensโ needs. Collaborating with the Huduma Kenya Secretariat, KSG aims to extend its reach to both the public and private sectors, emphasizing the importance of exceptional customer service for sustainable growth. This initiative directly aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth: By improving customer service standards in public institutions, we aim to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, contributing to sustainable economic growth and decent work for all. Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions: Strengthening customer service enhances accountability and responsiveness of public institutions, fostering trust and community engagement essential for building peaceful and inclusive societies. Goal 10: Reduced Inequality: Enhancing customer service aligns with efforts to ensure equitable treatment of all citizens, particularly marginalized groups, facilitating access to quality public services and reducing inequalities. To maximize the impact of this initiative, we are seeking a volunteer marketing expert capable of designing and implementing comprehensive outreach strategies that encompass local, regional, and international sectors. The goal is to effectively engage both public and private stakeholders and ensure robust participation in the training programs. Key Objectives of the Marketing Initiative 1. Enhance awareness of the Customer Service Excellence Training Program among public servants and private sector stakeholders. 2. Develop innovative marketing strategies to attract participation across local, regional, and international markets. 3. Foster strong partnerships with organizations and institutions to facilitate the trainingโs reach and impact. 4. Utilize digital marketing platforms and traditional outreach methods to maximize visibility and engagement.
Task DescriptionKey Activities The selected volunteer will engage in critical activities to promote the training program, including: 1. Crafting compelling marketing materials (brochures, social media content, newsletters) that highlight the training's benefits. 2. Identifying and pursuing collaboration opportunities with key stakeholders in both the public and private sectors. 3. Implementing a multi-channel communication strategy utilizing social media, email marketing, and networking events. 4. Organizing promotional webinars or workshops to educate potential participants about the program's offerings. 5. Gathering feedback and data to refine marketing approaches and measure the effectiveness of outreach efforts. The volunteer will be responsible for executing a dynamic marketing plan for the Customer Service Excellence Training Program. Key responsibilities include 1. Developing a comprehensive marketing strategy with specific outreach goals and targets. 2. Identifying and engaging potential participants in local, regional, and international markets. 3. Collaborating with KSG staff to create messaging that resonates with diverse audiences. 4. Delivering regular reports on marketing progress and outcomes to KSG leadership. 5. Maintaining ongoing communication through email or collaboration platforms (e.g., Zoom, MS Teams) for project updates and brainstorming sessions.
