For the purpose of this vacancy, internal candidates are considered first-tier candidates.ย ContextUnder the overall supervision of the Chief of mission and direct supervision of the Head of the Unit, the Senior Project Associate (Movements) is responsible for oversight and implementation of all relevant project activities including activities related to the capacity building of IOM partners working with vulnerable groups; reintegration of migrants under the programme of assisted voluntary return; reintegration (AVRR); promotion of the MMU project online, booking of flight tickets, return coordination and case management of beneficiaries of AVRR programme.ย ย 

Assist in the planning, coordination, implementation and monitoring of project activities.2. Compile, summarize, analyse, and present information/data on specific project topics, highlighting noteworthy issues for the consideration of appropriate parties.Monitor budget implementation and propose adjustments as necessary.Act as focal point for administrative coordination of project implementation, involving extensive liaison with diverse organizational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, follow-up on administrative actions, etc.Draft status reports; identify shortfalls in delivery, bring them to the attention of the supervisor and suggest corrective measures.Draft correspondence on project issues; prepare and update reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, and other forms of documentation.Organize meetings, workshops and training sessions; prepare training materials and participate in the delivering of capacity building workshops.Respond to complex information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records.Participate in meetings and conferences; maintain effective liaison and coordination with local authorities, partners, United Nation agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, donors and other stakeholders relevant to the project.Monitor work of implementing partners and report any non-compliance to the supervisor.Provide inputs for the development of Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs) and concept papers and provide general support for the development of new projects.Provides guidance/training and assist in coordinating and monitoring work of other staff in the unit; may supervise other staff as assigned.Perform other related duties as assigned.On behalf of MMU Team participates in the IOM Slovakiaโ€™s editorial board and updates. communication plan which s/he also implements.Works as AVRR case manager and Amadeus booker and coordinates with other Amadeus bookers.Maintains project database and tracks individual cases including follow-up and monitoring.Prepares reports on AVRR project.Provides assistance with movement related activities.Perform other duties as may be assigned. Education School diploma with six years of relevant experience; or,Bachelorโ€™s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience.Accredited Universities are those listed in theย UNESCO World Higher Education Database.ย Experience Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations;Experience in external communication, including report writing, presentations, and liaising with partners and donors;Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.Skills In depth knowledge of the broad range of migration related subject areas dealt with by the OrganizationVery good communication and organisation skills.Personal commitment, efficiency and drive for results.Proven ability to work independently as well as in a project team.Excellent Command of MS Office.Strong planning skills and strong in keeping deadlines.Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with a team.Excellent computer skills.Driving license B โ€“ active driver (manual and automatic).LanguagesIOMโ€™s official languages are English, French and Spanish.For this position, fluency in Slovak and English is required (oral and written).Working knowledge of Russian would be an advantage.Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.ย Required Competenciesย IOMโ€™s competency framework can be found atย this link.
