Mission and objectivesAnchored in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and in line with the priorities outlined in the UNDP Strategic Plan, the Regional Bureau for Arab States (RBAS) supports the Arab States region to achieve sustainable development by eradicating poverty in all its forms and dimensions, accelerating structural transformations for sustainable development, and building resilience to crises and shocks. In addition to its presence in New York, RBAS has its main office in the Regional Hub based in Amman, Jordan with some staff based in Beirut (Lebanon) and Dubai (UAE). The Amman Regional Hub hosts regional initiatives under the Regional Programme for Arab States 2022-2025 which touches upon the following areas of work: governance and anti-corruption, regional cooperation for the reduction of poverty and inequality, knowledge economy, conflict prevention and peacebuilding, climate security, youth engagement and empowerment, gender equality, resilience building, among others. UNDPโs Country Programme in Jordan aims to enhance the nation's inclusivity and resilience to achieve national priorities aligned with the 2030 Agenda. The Jordan Country Office Programme focuses on key Unit Priorities, including Governance and Peace, Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Livelihoods, Environment, Renewable Energy, Climate Change, Financing for Development, and SDG impact. The Country Office focuses on significant development challenges, such as decentralized governance, violent extremism, institutional capacity gaps, data availability issues, water and energy scarcity, climate change, poverty, unemployment, financial literacy gaps, limited women participation, weak youth empowerment, and the impact of refugees within host communities. Our communication products serve as powerful tools to showcase our SDG mandate and clearly demonstrate how each project seamlessly integrates into the broader mandate of our country program. These products act as a corporate framework, driving the organisation's external communications and advocacy efforts to expand its influence nationally. Our communication objectives are focused on outcomes, and โ where applicable โ related to changing attitudes and/or behaviour. โข Establish UNDP Jordan as thought leader providing thematic and innovative expertise and guidance to national and international partners. โข Build a sustainable private sector engagement model to meet established partnerships and programming targets. โข Utilise digital media to expand UNDP Jordanโs digital presence and create dialogue around innovative development solutions.
ContextAs part of the Green Pathways and Inclusive Growth Portfolio, UNDP Jordan is implementing an integrated communication campaign both online and offline to promote its work in Aqaba. The campaign aims to raise awareness within the Aqaba community, inspire positive behavior change that supports project objectives, and actively engage women and youth as key partners in sustainability. The multimedia products and communication materials developed under this campaign will align with the visual identity and guidelines of the Aqaba portfolio, which emphasize biodiversity, marine and terrestrial conservation as well as blue and circular economy solutions.3
Task DescriptionUNDP Jordan is looking for three Online Volunteer(s), who under the guidance of the Communications Analyst and Communications Officer, will conceptualize and design visual assets for the campaign, including the following products: โข A series of editable fact sheets (up to 10) to raise awareness of the Aqaba portfolio and its individual projects. Targeted channels: X, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram. โข A series of editable infographics (minimum 15) for each project, highlighting name, donor, objectives, interventions, and impact. Targeted channels: X, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram. โข A compact digital brochure (5โ10 pages) presenting key information about the Aqaba profile. โข Creative social media template for major announcements / milestones under each project. โข Rollup banner design for the Aqaba portfolio and individual projects to be displayed at various locations across Jordan. Dimensions: 2 m by 85 cm. โข Flyer design presenting the Aqaba portfolio for public distribution. Dimensions: 14 cm wide by 9.3 cm high. โข Conceptual designs for Aqaba Merchandise portfolio. If required, UNDP Jordan will provide photography material in high-resolution format An editable design file preferably using Canva must be delivered UNDP Jordan. All visual assets must be produced in Arabic and English. The design/layout should follow the UNDP Brand Guidelines which will be shared with the graphic designer upon selection. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a unique design concept, including the overall look and feel, for the entire project. UNDP Jordan will provide access to Canva Premium if needed. The Online Volunteer/s will have the opportunity to build on their experience in design and producing IEC materials that help pro mote UNDP's thought leadership in critical development areas.
