VA25P084V01: Junior Project Officer

The Junior Project Officer Pan-Africa will support equally the implementation of two projects in the Pan-Africa region, namely the “Strengthening Mauritanian coordination and intervention capacity for migration-related emergencies” TAS Mauritania (Component 1) project” as well as the Migration and Mobility Dialogue (MMD) project.Part of a larger intervention supporting the operationalisation of the Joint Declaration establishing a Migration Partnership between the Islamic Republic of Mauritania and the European Union - signed in March 2024 – the TAS Mauritania project specifically aims to strengthen Mauritania’s national crisis response mechanism for disembarked individuals, ensuring full respect for their human dignity. The overall objective of the MMD project is to enhance action that supports increased orderly, safe, regular and responsible migration and mobility of people within Africa and between Africa and Europe. The MMD project has two main strands: 1. Dialogues. The first strand focuses on dialogue facilitation and includes support to the Rabat Process, the Khartoum Process, the Joint Valletta Action Plan (JVAP) framework including the JVAP Database, and the Continent-to-Continent Migration and Mobility Dialogue. 2. Grants. The second strand supports the implementation of projects by local authorities and civil society organisations. The Junior Project Officer will be based in Brussels and report to the Project Manager of the TAS Mauritania project. However, the Khartoum Process Dialogue Coordinator will be mainly guiding the Junior Project Officer regarding MMD activities under strand 1.- Fluency in English and French (both verbal and written) for this position is mandatory.- Experience with African and European stakeholders in the area of migration is mandatory.- Experience with migration dialogues is a strong asset.​
