Theย Strategic Planning Unit (SPU)ย in SPRED supports and guides UN Women to achieve higher-quality development resultsย through an integrated approach that links strategic planning, monitoring and reporting and Results-Based Management (RBM), management approach. SPU is theย custodianย ofย RBMย in UN Women.ย The SPU provides quality assurance on strategic planning and results reporting exercises at the corporate and field levels. It takes a collaborative approach to strategic planning and programmatic learning, creating space for innovation and enabling UN Women and its partners to be more effective, knowledge and data-driven, and driving higher quality UN Women programming. SPU is also the leading unit as business owner for UN Women results management systems to support strategic planning and results-based monitoring and reporting processes as well asย data aggregation and analysis to communicate on results with stakeholders.
Under the supervision of the Programme Analyst โ Results-Based Management and in collaboration with the Strategic Planning Specialist, the intern will support theย rollout of the Planning, Monitoring and Reporting (PMR) Policy and Procedures and theย development of RBM learning material and the building and sharing of knowledge on RBM..
Description of responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the Programme Analyst โ Results-Based Management, the intern will be responsible for the following:
Assist with COs, ROs and HQs implementation of planning, monitoring, and reporting procedures and guidance by drafting emails, attending meetings, following up on pending meeting actions and providing quality assurance.ย ย Assist rolling out the PMR training package and conducting the Training of Trainers (TOT);ย Support SPUโs Work Planning and Annual Reporting exercises; Assist in developing communication materials, including SharePoint articles, Viva Engage posts, PowerPoint slides, and short videos, visibility and capacities of the PMR Policy, Procedures and RBM.ย Assist with broader internal communication efforts related to planning, monitoring and reporting, as needed.ยAssist in maintaining, updating and monitoring the PPG, Planning and RBM intranet pages

Education:
University studies in one of the following disciplines: research, knowledge management, public administration, business management, law, or other relevant subjects is required Familiarity with desk reviews would be an added advantage;ยKnowledge of internal communications would be a distinct advantage.ย
Meet one of the following:ย Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);ย Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent);ย Have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within a two-year period of graduation; orย Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program which is part of a degree programme and undertake the internship as part of the program requirements.ยLanguage:

Interns who are not in receipt of financial support from other sources such as universities or other institutions will receive a stipend from UN Women to partially subsidize their basic living costs for the duration of the internship.
