Background:
UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security.
The Womenโs Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) is a partnership between the United Nations, Member States, and civil society, which supports women-led and womenโs rights organizations working to build peace and provide humanitarian response throughout the world. Since the end of 2016, the WPHF has supported close to 1000 civil society organizations in 41 countries.
UN Women hosts the Secretariat of the Womenโs Peace and Humanitarian Fund. The WPHF Secretariat provides support to the Funding Board, mobilizes resources from Governments, companies, foundations and individuals, designs funding windows and mechanisms, provides day-to-day support to Country Offices implementing WPHF programmes, and ensures timely and quality monitoring and reporting. The Secretariatโs mandate is also to strengthen stakeholdersโ knowledge of and engagement with women, peace and security issues through proper internal and external communications, advocacy and outreach. Finally, the Secretariat provides knowledge management services for the WPHF and manages the Community of Practice (CoP) for WPHF partners and grantees.
Under the supervision of the Head of Secretariat, the Partnerships Specialist will provide technical support to the development and management of UN Womenโs strategic partnerships and relationships, and resource mobilization strategy, as well as enhance resource mobilization capacity across the WPHF Windows.
Key Functions and Accountabilities:
1. ย ย Oversee the development of WPHFs strategic partnershipsย
Oversee the relationships with key partners; provide substantive technical inputs to WPHFโs efforts to develop new partnerships. Oversee partnerships with different UN, civil society and Government entities in order to deliver on WPHFโs mandate. Set and monitor annual priorities, goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) for partnerships.2. ย ย Build trust and maintain effective relationships with donors
Provide substantive technical support to the Head of Secretariat and other senior managers in the preparation of missions, meetings and other consultations with donors, including the preparation of notes, briefs and other materials. Act as a direct entry point for government partners, building institutional relationships. Provide regular donor intelligence.3. ย ย Promote the submission of high quality and timely reports to donors
Promote compliance with the terms of grants and agreements. Provide substantive technical support to programme managers for the preparation of high quality and timely donor reports.ย Coordinate with the Communications and Advocacy Specialist and the Monitoring and Reporting Specialist for the collection of information and preparation of results-based reports for external constituencies.ย4. ย ย Coordinate development and implementation of resource mobilization strategy
In close collaboration with the Head of Secretariat and Senior Management lead the development of a resource mobilisation strategy. Support the implementation of the resource mobilisation strategy. Monitor the implementation of the resource mobilisation strategy. Ensure the maintenance of donor database and donor intelligence on WPSHA issues.ย Oversee Monitor and track regular resource pledges/agreements and funding received. Coordinate communication with the Multi-partner Trust Fund Office and UN Women on donor agreements.5. ย The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organisation.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:ย The incumbent leads a team of 3, which includes 1 direct report (P2), as well as 1 affiliate personnel (UNV).

Education and Certification:
Masterโs degree or equivalent in economics, business management, social sciences, public administration, international relations, communications, women's studies, or a related field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.Experience:
At least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in resource mobilization, communications/ advocacy, and/or business development is required. Experience in WPS and Humanitarian Response is required. Experience working with civil society organizations, international institutions and donors is required. Experience working in the UN system or a Fund is desirable. Experience leading and coaching staff in international settings is required. Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web-based management systems is required. Experience in the use of a modern web-based ERP System, preferably Oracle Cloud, is desirable.Languages:
Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language is desirable (French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Spanish).Statements :
