5 Steps to get a job in the United Nations

Background:

UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security.

Globally, UN Women focuses on six priority areas: increasing womenโ€™s leadership and participation in governance and decision-making, ending violence against women, enhancing womenโ€™s economic empowerment, engaging women in all aspects of peace and resilience, making gender equality central to national development planning and budgeting, and advancing gender equality in intergovernmental processes. In the Philippines, these priorities are translated into programmes and advocacy efforts steered to support the cross-cutting, high-impact area of womenโ€™s full, equal, and meaningful participation in leadership and decision-making across humanitarian, development, and peace contexts. Through its normative mandate, UN Women Philippines is also supporting the country in the operationalization of the countryโ€™s commitments to international frameworks, standards and targets.
