SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid association which, since more than 40 years, has been providing assistance to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting their basic needs for food, water and shelter. Particularly committed to the fight against diseases linked to unsafe water, the leading cause of death in the world, SI's interventions provide expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and hygiene promotion, but also in the essential area of food security and livelihoods. Present in 26 countries, the SI teams โ 3200 people in total, made up of expatriates, national staff, permanent staff at HQ, and a few volunteers - intervene with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultural norms.
About the mission
Since the beginning of the \"full-scale invasion' of Ukraine by Russian Forces, SI has been responding to the needs of the population in the territories under the control of the Government of Ukraine. While the programming was geared towards immediate emergency response in 2022 and 2023, 2024 was a transitional year towards balanced programming. In 2025/26 the SI programmatic strategy will revolve around 2 pillars, pillar 1 being about responding to both acute and chronic emergencies and pillar 2 focusing on the creation of conducive conditions for safe and dignified stay and return in stabilized areas (in support to local authorities for them to be able to deliver a better WASH public service). SI in Ukraine works in the sectors of WASH and SHELTER and promotes an integrated approach. SI also works in partnership with several local entities. In 2025/26 staff strength will be approximately 100 people spread over four locations. Activities are implemented in 6 oblasts in the south and the east of Ukraine, and coordinated through 3 field bases in Dnipro, Kharkiv and Mykolaiv. The coordination office is located in Kyiv. Donors in 2025 are BHA, CDCS, AFD, ECHO,FLD and SDC.
About the job
General objective:
As part of the coordination team and reporting to the Grants and Partnerships Coordinator, the Grants Manager ensures accountability to donors and effective grants management across the project cycle. He/she works closely with program and support teams at both coordination and base levels.
The role encompasses strategic contributions to the missionโs development, proactive identification of funding opportunities, and oversight of high-quality proposal and report submissions. The Grants Manager ensures compliance with donor procedures, builds staff capacity on donor compliance and accountability, and maintains rigorous follow-up on contractual obligations, from contracting to closure.
The Grants Manager will be responsible for managing a Reporting and Communication Officer.The main challenges:

Priorities for 2-3 months:
The priorities during the first months will be to support the Grants and Partnerships Coordinator in the development of the various proposals and answers to donor's feedback, liaising with the coordination and field teams. He/she will also need to train and supervise closely the new Reporting and Communication Officer in his/her day-to-day tasks and various reporting deadlines.Security constraints:

Education / academic background:
Degree in political science, humanitarian action, development, international relations or international law Experience in the humanitarian sector: 2 years Experience in a similar position: will be an assetSpecific skills and experience:
Technical skills
Excellent writing skills and experience in writing proposals and reports. Strong understanding and knowledge of US, DG ECHO, CDCS, AFD, SDC, UHF and other donor rules and regulations. Excellent relationship-building, interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively represent SI at forums and with donors.Transversal skills
Oral and written communication skills, with the ability to express ideas and concepts clearly and persuasively. Diplomacy and the ability to work in a multicultural contextLanguage:
Professional fluency in spoken and written English and French Ukrainian and/or Russian (an asset)
SI will offer you
A salaried position:
According to experience, starting from EUR 2100 gross per month (2100 base salary + 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly) and a monthly Per Diem of USD 700.
SI also covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's country of origin and the place of assignment.
Breaks: During the assignment, a system of alternation between work and time off is implemented at the rate of 7 working days every three months (with a USD 850 break allowance, allocated by Sl). To these breaks periods, SI grants one (1) additional rest day per month worked.
Insurance package: Expatriates benefit from an insurance package which refunds all healthcare expenses (including medical and surgical expenses, dental care and ophthalmological expenses, repatriation) and a welfare system including war risks. Essential vaccination and antimalarial treatment costs are refunded.
