About this position
We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated and knowledgeable Technical expert for the Treasury product. As Technical expert, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of software solutions while guiding a team of developers to deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable systems. You will serve as the primary point of technical contact within your team, ensuring alignment with architectural standards, coding best practices, and business objectives. The role combines hands-on development with leadership and mentoring responsibilities, playing a critical role in shaping both project outcomes and team development.
You will work on the Treasury Product team that is part of the Enterprise Product group in the Banks Technology and Transformation Department. This team is responsible for supporting and maintaining the daily operations of the Treasury Management System of the Bank, as well as developing and implementing new projects and initiatives associated with the Treasury operations of the institution.
What you’ll do
- Guide the technical direction of a development team, ensuring that software solutions are aligned with strategic goals and delivered on time.
- Act as both a technical expert and a team leader, balancing architectural thinking with hands-on coding and delivery.
- Work across agile teams and products to coordinate development activities and resolve technical dependencies or blockers.
- Champion engineering excellence and fosters a collaborative, high-performance development culture.
- Lead the planning, design, development, and delivery of complex software projects and system components.
- Provide hands-on coding and code reviews to ensure quality, performance, security, and maintainability.
- Collaborating with architects and other tech leads to define system architecture and technical roadmaps.
- Serve as the technical point of contact for project stakeholders, including product owners, project managers, and business analysts.
- Translate business and functional requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Coach and mentor team members, promoting professional development and knowledge sharing.
- Establish and enforce coding standards, development workflows, and technical best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across development processes and tools.
- Identify technical risks and implement mitigation strategies early in the development cycle.
- Ensure alignment with DevOps, testing, security, and deployment standards.
What you'll need
Education: Master’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or other fields relevant to the role responsibilities. In lieu of a Master Degree, a Bachelor’s Degree in one of above curriculums AND at least two certifications in the following:
· Azure Fundamentals: Core knowledge of Azure services and architecture.
· Azure Data Fundamentals: Basic understanding of Azure data services.
· Azure Security Fundamentals: Introductory cloud security principles.
· AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner: Foundational AWS cloud skills.
· Entry Certificate in Business Analysis (ECBA) – IIBA's entry-level certification for understanding business analysis principles and techniques.
· Azure Developer Associate: Cloud application development on Azure.
· AWS Developer Associate: Cloud development using AWS services.
· AWS Solutions Architect Associate: Design and deploy AWS architectures.
· Terraform Associate: Infrastructure as Code (IaC) automation with Terraform.
· PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA): Strengthens skills in analyzing business needs and project requirements.

• Experience: At least 6 years of progressive experience in Software Engineering and application support.
• Languages: Proficiency in English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of Spanish, French and Portuguese is preferable.
Requirements
• Citizenship: Citizenship from the country where you will work remotely.
• Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
Type of contract and duration
• Staff: National (Local Remote Staff): National staff contract under a fully remote modality, 36 months. This contract is part of a program to hire staff to work fully remotely (not office-based). The program is set to expire at the end of 2028 and it may be extended, if successful.

The position can be based in any of the following countries: Argentina, Bahamas, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cost Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Spain, Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago and Uruguay.
