Mission and objectivesThe United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme contributes to peace and development through volunteerism worldwide. We work with partners to integrate qualified, highly motivated and well supported UN Volunteers into development programming and promote the value and global recognition of volunteerism. UNV is administered by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and reports to the UNDP/UNFPA/UNOPS Executive Board.
ContextIn response to the ongoing crisis in the region, UNDP and UNV are launching a series of Group Support Sessions to provide psychosocial support to UN personnel in the region. These sessions aim to address the pressing mental health and well-being concerns faced by colleagues and offer practical strategies for emotional resilience. The Group Support Sessions will be delivered in Arabic and will cover the following topics: 1- Loss, Grief, and Bereavement 2- Depression 3- Adjustment Disorder 4- Dealing with Our Children in Times of Crisis 5- Psychosomatic Reactions to Stressful Events 6- Interpersonal Relationships in Times of Crisis The original session materials are being developed in English and need to be both translated and visually enhanced to ensure maximum accessibility, clarity, and emotional sensitivity. Given the urgency and depth of the subject matter, the translated and designed materials must reflect both linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance. To support the delivery of this sessions, we are seeking two dedicated Online Volunteers to assist in translation of presentation materials from English into Arabic.
Task DescriptionWe are seeking 2 Online Volunteers to support us translate Psychosocial Support PowerPoint Presentation from English to Arabic. Each of the selected volunteer will do the following: - Translate three English PowerPoint presentation content (approx. 20â30 slides per presentation) into Arabic. - Ensure knowledge in the use of accurate mental health and psychosocial terminology.
