Project Summary


Funded by the World Bank under the regional EAGER initiative and implemented by Mozambiqueโ€™s National Youth Institute (INJ), the two year โ€œEu Sou Capazโ€ program will be implemented in 12 districts in southern Mozambique. The program aims to reduce school dropout and early pregnancy among girls by addressing social norms, improving access to education, and enhancing girlsโ€™ empowerment. Key activities include distributing school uniforms, bicycles, and menstrual hygiene kits; providing life skills training in Safe Spaces for out-of-school girls; engaging community leaders and partners through awareness and behavior change campaigns; and supporting identity registration through Citizenship Fairs. The project will manage community-level implementation, including recruiting and managing a network of local mentors and facilitators, coordinating awareness efforts, and ensuring robust monitoring and evaluation.

This position is contingent upon donor funding awarded to FHI 360 and will be based in Mozambique.


Role Description

The Training Specialist will be based in Maputo and will report to the Team Lead. The Training Specialist will oversee the coordination of all training activities in support of the project. They will be responsible for the identification of training needs, designing and implementing training, monitoring conduct of various trainings, and building the capacity of local partners and stakeholders. These responsibilities will be carried out in close collaboration with project partners, including INJ and MTGAS, and the projectโ€™s Team Lead, Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist, and Community Engagement Specialist.
