ย Context Under the overall guidance of the Chief of Mission (CoM) in Bratislava, and the direct supervision of the Head of Migrant Protection and Assistance Unit, and in collaboration with other team members, the incumbent will be responsible for the coordination of IOMโs Migration Information Centre (MIC) community and outreach services; supporting the community cohesion and inclusion of migrants in Slovakia
- Coordinate cooperation with cultural mediators, representatives of diasporas, migrant communities, local and regional institutions, relevant governmental, non-governmental entities as well as other international organisations
- Coordinate activities related to the MIC community outreach services across all regions of Slovakia;
- Expand and manage the regional network of community and cultural mediators to enhance community outreach services, including their capacity building and support;
- Facilitate liaison and networking opportunities to promote the social inclusion migrants and enhancing their access to public services and authorities;
- Coordinate outreach activities, encompassing community events, workshops, public appearances, and other communication opportunities;
- Monitor and update MIC website, including insertion of updates, newsletters, social media posts/blogs;
- Prepare various visibility materials in form of presentations, photos, articles, short films or others;
- Organize meetings, workshops and training sessions; prepare training materials and information materials for target group and participate in the delivering of capacity building workshops;
- Assist in the preparation of periodic and final reports to the donor, including filing and preparation of supporting documentation and in overall planning, coordination, implementation and monitoring of project activities;
- Draft correspondence on project issues; prepare and update reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, and other forms of documentation;
- Respond to complex information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records;
- Gather and archive data, information and supporting documentation necessary for the project implementation;
- Provide guidance/training to other staff in the team;
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Chief of Mission. Education
- Bachelorโs degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience
OR - Completed High School degree from an accredited academic institution, with at least six years of relevant working experience, preferably in similar roles. Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. ย Experience
- Experience in educational activities, community outreach or similar field work with migrants;
- Experience in working with communities, municipalities, governments, civil society and the private sector;
- Experience in communications, including website content, newsletters, social media posts/blogs;
- Experience in preparing and delivering trainings is an advantage;
- Experience in writing and editing of articles and reports;
- Experience in cultural mediation or similar is an advantage;
- Experience in working with migrants, migration management, and international migration issues is an advantage;
- Experience in social, labour and migration law of the Slovak Republic and human rights law is an advantage. Skills

- For this position, fluency in Slovak and English is required (oral and written). Working knowledge of Russian/Ukrainian is desirable. IOMโs official languages are English, French and Spanish.
