OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST
This position is located in the Division for Communications and Public Engagement (CPE), under the authority of the Director of the Division and the direct supervision of the Senior Communication Officer in charge of Strategic Planning and Priorities.
Following a decision by the Executive Board in October 2024, UNESCO has committed to a major investment in digital communication tools through its Strategic Corporate Investment Fund (CSI).
The incumbent will ensure the smooth implementation of this roadmap and lead the delivery of these various high-impact strategic projects, including but not limited to the Digital Asset Management (DAM) strategy platform, the corporate editorial planning and publication workflow tool, the development of impact monitoring tools, digital interfaces for Member States and content translation tools.
In particular, the incumbent will:
Long Description
Provide strategic and operational advice on the design, planning, and the execution of digital projects initiatives. Act as a key liaison between the Director's office and internal/external stakeholders involved in digital projects. Coordinate cross-functional project teams, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and communication priorities. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in communication, information technologies, digital transformation, international relations, or a related field.
Work Experience
A minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in project coordination or project management, preferably in digital communications or information systems, of which preferably 2 years at international level. Proven experience in managing multi-stakeholder projects, including coordination of technical teams, budgeting, and monitoring. Demonstrated experience in digital platform development, UX/UI design, or the deployment of digital asset management tools. Proven track record of delivering large, cross-functional projects involving digital or technology platforms. Experience working on production systems, with knowledge of agile development methodologies, version control, and issue tracking tools. Extensive experience in client-facing roles and in managing collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Skills and Competencies
Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and deliver results under tight deadlines. Strong ability to independently drive key phases of strategic projects while maintaining seamless collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure strategic alignment and impact. Robust understanding of IT tools and systems, and their alignment with business processes supporting daily operations. Solid foundational knowledge of data management practices. Ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts and digital solutions clearly to non-specialist audiences, adapting to different organizational contexts. Strong interpersonal skills and capacity to build consensus among diverse teams and stakeholders. Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills. Excellent drafting and communication skills, including for advocacy and outreach purposes, with a proven ability to tailor messages to multiple audiences and balance competing priorities. Strong understanding of branding, communication standards, and digital user experience.
Languages
Excellent knowledge of English or French and good knowledge of the other language.DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

UNESCO’s salaries consist of a basic salary and other benefits which may include if applicable: 30 days annual leave, family allowance, medical insurance, pension plan etc.
The approximate annual starting salary for this post is 111 707 US $.
