Org. Setting and ReportingSupervisor: The incumbent of this post reports to Field/Area Construction Engineer or Field/Area Maintenance Engineer . Responsibilities1. Is responsible for all day-to-day activities of construction/maintenance project site; supervises the work carried out by contractors on site ensuring that works are implemented in accordance with the Contract Documents, and that quality, health and safety, gender requirements are met. 2. Monitors the quality of materials and workmanship used in the project, ensuring that they comply with the specifications and that all necessary tests on materials are carried out including inspections at the manufacturersโ location, as per the standing procedure and instructions. 3. Valuates, measures, and agrees with the contractor on the quantities of the executed work; verifies the contractorโs requested interim and final payments and ensures the conformity of these payments with the executed quantities and submits them to his/her supervisor for certification. 4. Assures correctness of levelling and surveying of construction site; checks the locations of existing utilities for possible conflict and resolves any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise in consultation with supervisor. 5. Checks and records working, shop and as built drawings prepared for this purpose, the actual levels and details of foundations, the type of strata encountered in the excavation and full details of any deviations from the working/as built drawings which may have been made during the execution of the work. 6. Prepares and discusses with his/her supervisor the necessary Variation Orders, Extension of Time and any other changes required to the Contract where necessary; assesses and records all relevant details of the additional works, including costs of labour, materials, and equipment. 7. Maintains and enters into Facilities Management Information System (FMIS) records, forms, payments, variation orders, extension of time, progress, tests, and other project actions carried out on the construction and/or maintenance site; prepares daily and weekly technical/financial progress and ad hoc reports/statistics and information as may be required including costs and time requirements and provides recommendations as appropriate. 8. Examines and approves, in consultation with the supervisor/s, methods proposed by the contractor to ensure safe and satisfactory execution of the construction/ maintenance works. 9. Performing other duties as may be assigned.
