Develop validation plans including definition of objectives, activities and exercise needs and experimental design and scenarios. Collect data and requirements, perform analysis and select indicators and metrics to support the validation process of new concepts. Contribute to validation/simulation preparation activities by testing platforms/tools and preparing training material. Participate in projects or initiatives with a view to further developing validation exercises methods and tools. Assess validation exercises results with subject matters experts and formalise and consolidate these results in technical reports and presentations. Carry out tasks according to the established methodology and experimental design and report any detected issues or anomalies. Participate in validation/simulation and post-experiment activities by preparing datasets, running preliminary analyses, and providing recommendations and findings. Assist and/or support staff with less experience in the domain of expertise/knowledge. Develop knowledge and skills in the field of expertise under the guidance of more senior staff. Carry out any other tasks in line with the main purpose of the job.

Required qualifications, experience & competencies

Post secondary education and/or secondary education giving access to post-secondary education, and relevant professional experience of at least 3 years. Master degree in a relevant field would be considered an asset. Internal candidates can check on the intranet to see what level of in-house experience is considered equivalent to educational qualifications where appropriate. Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience. Experience in applying validation methods and experimental design approaches (e.g. EOCVM, design thinking, ...), as well as related techniques (e.g. Real Time Simulations (RTS), Fast Time Simulations (FTS), gaming, prototyping, etc.) Experience in operational concepts simulations. Experience with data visualisation and BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc). Ability to analyse data and perform statistical analysis. Knowledge in Air Transport. Knowledge in simulation platforms (e.g. ESCAPE, โ€ฆ). Knowledge of Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) concepts and their application in validation and simulation exercises. Technical drafting and presenting skills (English). The following are considered assets: Experience in ATM operational related simulations would be an asset (e.g. to test new airspace design, to test new system functionalities for controllers, etc.). Knowledge in human factors methods / approaches and human factors techniques. Knowledge in UI/UX research and design. Communication: you are able to foster two-way communication. Team work: You display a collaborative approach. Customer Focus: You adapt services to respond to customer needs. Quality Focus: You deliver consistent quality in work. Problem Solving: You know how to respond to (routine) problems as they arise by applying job knowledge. Ability to work in a multinational and multicultural environment. Professional conduct in line with the corporate behaviours of the Agency, i.e. result-driven, readiness to change, customer focus, integrity and team-player approach. The working languages of the Agency are English and French. For this particular job, candidates must be proficient users of English at level C1. The selected candidate will be required to become basic users of French at level A2 before the end of the probation period.
The levels relate to the European-framework-reference Common European Framework of References for languages (CEFR).

The internal staff member with a determined contract will be offered, in principle, an appointment for 5 Year(s) with a maximum total duration of 9 years. The successful candidate shall be appointed at the grade set out in this vacancy notice, or if a group of grades has been published for a job level, in principle at the basic grade of the published job level.
