What we are looking for:

NRC is seeking a seasoned Shelter Project Manager to manage the implementation of the Shelter and Settlements, Cash and Markets (CM) and WASH-related projects as assigned for Rakhine area office in Myanmar.ย 

What you will do:

Responsible for Shelter and Settlements, CM, WASH and Emergency specific input and participation in cross-cutting and/or integrated contextual analysis, needs assessment and protection risk analysis specific. Responsible for Shelter and Settlements, CM and WASH inputs and participation in needs assessments, planning and implementation of responses to new emergencies, providing regular context and risk analyses. Collaborate with HR on recruitment of project staff. Daily management of Shelter and Settlements, CM and WASH programme activities in Rakhine area office and regularly monitor, evaluate and suggest changes and improvements to the programme and tools based on observations and discussions with critical interfaces. In cooperation with Shelter and Settlements, CM and WASH staff, prepare monthly reports and supervise data collection for the MEL reporting, organize relevant Post-Distribution Monitoring (PDM) and Outcome Monitoring Exercise (OME). Building on the OME analysis, organize and lead on the Shelter and Settlements, CM and WASH Lesson Learnt workshop at least once a year in coordination with the MEL Unit. Conduct frequent travels to the field to supervise programme implementation and provide technical guidance to the team. Ensure good cooperation and exchange of information within the Shelter and Settlements, CM and WASH team, as well as other relevant partners, external actors, and area office level coordination groups. Establish an excellent working relation with international agencies, international NGOs, clusters/sectors, local NGOs and communities. Represent NRC in relevant fora/cluster/working groups as directed by the Area Programme Manager or suggested by the Shelter and Settlements Specialist. Management of local partners throughout the project cycle. Contribute to the development of NRCโ€™s Country Strategy, action plan and priorities in the Shelter and Settlements, CM and WASH sectors.

What you will bring:

Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts. At least 3 years of progressively responsible experience from a senior level project implementation position in a humanitarian/recovery context. Experience with Shelter and Settlements, Cash for Work, Multi-Purpose Cash, WASH and Emergency responses. Technical Shelter and Settlements expertise, understanding of international standards, and Shelter fundamental concepts and guiding principles (Sphere standards). Experience in WASH and CM response is a plus. Project management experience, including management of staff and team building/motivation, project cycle management, MEL analysis, donor reporting. Documented results related to the positionโ€™s responsibilities and competencies. Experience in coordinating humanitarian aid in complex emergencies desirable. Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile. Fluency in Burmese and English, both written and verbal.ย 

What we offer:

Duty station: Sittwe, Rakhine State. ย  Contract: Until 31 December 2025 with possibility of extension. Travel: 40%.
