Terms of Reference1. General Background

UNHCR is the UN Refugee Agency and takes the lead in providing international protection for more than 122 million refugees and displaced people worldwide.

Private Sector Partnerships Service (PSP) is a fast growing global division with offices across the world. UNHCR has developed a private sector engagement strategy to achieve, the long-term goal of maximizing sustainable and flexible contributions from the private sector to raise $1 billion annually.

In Thailand, PSP has been achieving outstanding results since its establishment in May 2008 through its diversified fundraising channels; face to face, digital, direct mail, direct response TV and multi-channels programmes. Due to the size of the database and the diversity of the donors recruited, the office also operates a complex donor development strategy which requires an additional workforce to implement the plan effectively. The mid-value donor development or middle donor programme has grown substantially since the pilot project in 2020. It is expected to have substantial growth in the future.

To continue the successful expansion, PSP Thailand is now looking for a highly motivated and results driven fundraising professional capable of providing a meaningful mid-value donor journey and building relationships with existing mid-value donors and prospects, and finally successfully transitioning mid-value donors to major donors.

2. Purpose and Scope of Assignment

The Mid-Value Donor (Middle Donor) staff will play a crucial role in cultivating and maintaining relationships with donors who contribute between $1,000 and $10,000 annually. The successful candidate will work closely with the Donor Development and Retention team to identify, engage, and steward mid-value donors, with the goal of achieving a total income of $300,000.

Key responsibilities:

โ€ข Develop and execute a comprehensive mid-value donor strategy to increase revenue and donor retention.
o Cultivate a portfolio of mid-value donors who give between $1,000
and $10,000 per year.
o Identify prospect mid-value donors that include Individual Giving
donors who give $500-$999 and new audience to migrate them to
the middle donor programme pipeline
o Closely coordinate with Private Partnerships & Philanthropy (PPH)
in identifying potential major donors (who give more than $ 10,000
annually) among the mid-value donor pool and facilitating the
migration.
โ€ข Build and maintain strong relationships with mid-value donors with personalized communications through integrated channels (including direct mail, LINE, telemarketing, email, SMS,social media), fundraising events, and recognition programs.

โ€ข Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create compelling fundraising campaigns and materials tailored to mid-value donors.

โ€ข Monitor and analyze mid-value donor giving trends, providing regular reports and recommendations to management team.

โ€ข Ensure accurate and timely recording of donor information in the database, adhering to data integrity standards.

โ€ข Coordinate with the Database and CRM focal point for any relevant reporting and analysis of donor development activities in order to evaluate performance and enhance future growth

โ€ข Track KPIs and key metrics of middle donor programme against year over year target and accurately report the performance to PSP Thailand

3. Monitoring and Progress Controls

โ€ข Timely coordination of donor development project for middle donors and prospects which result in all communications reaching donors on time and as defined in the annual plan

โ€ข Support Assistant PSP IG Officer (Donor Development and Retention) to ensure that income generation from middle donor portfolio is delivered according to the target

โ€ข All defined key performance indicators for the middle donor programme including income generation and donorโ€™s feedback analysis are measured and reported accurately to PSP Thailand

4. Qualifications and Experience

a. Education

โ€ข Completion of high school diploma or Bachelorโ€™s degree in mass Communication, Liberal Arts, Advertising, Marketing or related fields

b. Work Experience

โ€ข Minimum 2 years working experience with High School Diploma or 1 year of experience with Bachelor Degree or higher, in donor or customer development and/or marketing, communications

โ€ข Proven experience in providing functional guidance to donor care or customer service team is desirable

โ€ข Proven experience in private sector fundraising to individuals or direct marketing in a business to consumer environment is desirable

c. Key Competencies

โ€ข Technical knowledge of how to carry out private sector fundraising or business to consumer, donor/customer retention and development

โ€ข Strong copywriting, editing and copy evaluation skills in order to developing donor retention communications

โ€ข Competent in developing and translating online and offline communication materials

โ€ข Ability to conduct research and identify relevant content for the development of engaging donor/customer communications

โ€ข Strong communication and interpersonal skills

โ€ข Proficiency in written and spoken Thai and English

โ€ข Demonstrate donor/customer centric focus

โ€ข Excellent problem-solving skills

โ€ข Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

โ€ข Attention to details, high accuracy and result oriented

โ€ข Ability to collaborate with others, with a flexible and positive attitude

โ€ข Analytical competencies

โ€ข Proficiency in MS office including MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook

โ€ข Knowledge of donor database and housekeeping donor/customer data

โ€ข Demonstrate customer centric focus

Desirable:

โ€ข Experience working with direct mail, telemarketing and email marketing fundraising channels

โ€ข Knowledge of customer segmentation and analysis approaches

โ€ข Experience in training fundraising or sales representatives in telemarketing agencies

โ€ข Experience of coordinating the day-to-day work with suppliers
