ย  Context

Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission, the direct supervision of the Protection Coordinator, and in close coordination with the Protection Officer, the Senior Protection Associate (Reporting) is responsible for supporting the effective implementation and reporting of IOM Algeriaโ€™s Protection interventions.ย 
ย 

1.ย ย ย ย Assist in coordinating and monitoring the operational, administrative and financial aspects of protection projects in Algeria in accordance with IOM policies and practices as well as donor requirements.ย 
2.ย ย ย ย Keep the Head of Protection Unit informed on the status of project implementation; help identify gaps and suggest corrective actions as needed.ย 
3.ย ย ย ย Support the development and review of work plans, budgets, monitoring tools, and standard operations procedures.ย 
4.ย ย ย ย Coordinate the collection, verification and analysis of data and background information; update information management systems and social media platforms on project-related activities; contribute to the preparation of press releases, project awareness and visibility materials, summaries, and other relevant documentation.ย 
5.ย ย ย ย Work closely with the Protection Coordinator and PSU to support the identification of protection needs and compiling inputs for project development.
6.ย ย ย ย Work closely with the Protection Coordinator and RMU to support the financial monitoring of protection projects.
7.ย ย ย ย Assist in the preparation and timely submission of project reports in accordance with IOM procedures and donor requirements.ย 
8.ย ย ย ย Contribute to organizing and delivering training sessions and capacity-building activities targeting IOM staff, government and civil society partners, implementing partners and communities.ย 
9.ย ย ย ย Compile data inputs and updates from field centres on a regular basis.
10.ย ย ย ย Draft monthly reports for protection projects and contribute to internal updates.ย 
11.ย ย ย ย Compile and present anonymized weekly summaries based on interactions with beneficiaries, for review by the Protection Officer and Coordinator.ย 
12.ย ย ย ย Undertake duty travel when necessary.
13.ย ย ย ย Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education

โ€ข ย ย ย ย High school diploma with six years of relevant professional experience; or,
โ€ข ย ย ย ย Bachelorโ€™s degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Sciences or a related field from an accredited academic institution with a minimum of four years of relevant professional experience.

โ€ข ย ย ย ย Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations.ย 
โ€ข ย ย ย ย Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups.ย 
โ€ข ย ย ย ย Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organizations in a multicultural setting is an advantage.
