Senior Program Associate

The Senior Program Associate will provide essential programmatic and operational support to ensure the smooth delivery of the Green Transition Mechanism (GTM) initiative. The role will contribute to coordination, quality control, knowledge sharing, and efficient implementation of activities across multiple countries. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented, and well-organized team player capable of managing multiple streams of work in a dynamic, cross-cultural, and multi-country environment.

PURPOSE
Supporting day-to-day coordination of program activities, deliverables, and timelines in close collaboration with the GTM Team Lead and GGGI teams Responsible for the organization and delivery of regional workshops, training sessions, and high-level stakeholder meetings. Ensuring consistency and quality across technical documents, reports, and presentations. Contributing to research, analysis, and stakeholder engagement across the public and private sectors. Supporting internal reporting, monitoring, and knowledge management tasks Coordiationg in organizing missions, traninings, workships and relavent events

ENGAGEMENT
Coordinate closely with the GTM Team Lead and other core team members to support the execution of program activities. Liaise regularly with internal GGGI teamsโ€”including Africa Regional Office, Green Investment Services, Communications, Procurement, and MEL Unitsโ€”for operational and technical alignment. Support effective engagement with external partners, including government stakeholders, financial institutions, development agencies, and SIDA representatives. Represent the program in meetings, workshops, and calls as delegated, ensuring effective follow-up and timely documentation. Facilitate communication between participating countries and GGGI HQ/regional teams, ensuring responsiveness and continuity.

DELIVERY
Proactively manage and update project work plans, calendars, and task trackers aligned with approved timelines. Regular coordination updates and meeting summaries shared with internal and external stakeholders. Lead logistical support and documentation for program workshops, trainings, and bilateral stakeholder engagements. Compile post-event reports, participant lists, and action items for follow-up. Draft, proofread, and format technical documents, presentations, talking points, and briefing notes for internal and external use. Contribute to quality assurance processes, ensuring alignment with GGGI standards and donor requirements. Maintain records of program activities and outputs to support reporting to SIDA and other stakeholders. Actively contribute to the donor reports, including data consolidation and visualization. Maintain a live contact list of GTM program stakeholders, partners, and beneficiaries. Support the preparation of knowledge-sharing materials, visibility content, and documentation of lessons learned Other relevant tasks may be agreed on separately.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum degree (undergraduateโ€™s) relevant to environment, sustainable development, climate change, public policy and relevant subject, Advance degree is an advantage. Preferred at least five to six years of experience in climate change, sustainability data analysis, ESG reporting, policy implementation, program management or other fields relevant to this assignment. Demonstrated understanding of the international climate finance landscape, ESG, fiduciary standard Experience in day-to-day engagement with Government ministries and agencies. Specific experience with commercial banks is a distinct advantage. Experience in requirements and procedures of bilateral donors/organizations or multilateral organizations. Experience in organizing consultations, validation meetings, workshops, and capacity building events. Experience in organizing and managing technical training and workshops. Experience working in developing countries. Skills in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point).

WORKING CONDITIONS

The Analyst position is an X7 grade level in GGGIโ€™s national salary scale. The annual base salary of X7 nationa position in CIV starts from USD 28,292. Determination of base salary is subject to candidate's experience, academic background, and internal equity. GGGI provides 15% of base salary towards retirement plan/long-term savings, 27 days of annual leave, and private health insurance. This is a national position and does not include relocation benefits.
